In short: Great Half In full: Weather conditions made the walk across the field from car park to start very muddy. But race started on time and was very well marshalled with 4 water stations. Have run summer races with less water. Sponges maybe a bit over the top but that can't be a negative.
Challenging course but some nice scenic bits. Friendly local support dotted around. Date of review: November 24, 2008

In short: Very enjoyable despite the weather! In full: Undulating race, on fairly quiet rural roads. Very well marshalled - the poor marshalls must have been frozen so a big thanks to them! I did better than I expected so left very happy. I was well protected from the weather with hat, gloves & coat - certainly not a race for vest & shorts! Date of review: November 24, 2008

In short: A bit too cold today for a PB! Back next year! In full: I felt that the large bottles of water issued at the water stations were a bit over the top, when a cup full would have been just as good! There is only so much ice cold water that you want too drink! Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Nice run, lot of busy road. Great Marshalls ! In full: Well worth the trip. Quite up and down with a long drag from 11 to 12m. Lots of toilets at start. "No toilets on route" what's that about? it's a race! ever seen ANY toilets on a route other than BIG marathons? Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Fantastic race well worth the journey In full: I can only say how greatful I was to the people of Clowne, to stand and support runners in weather like today, they deserve a medal! The race was good for me as I finally got my race plan together and ran a most enjoyable race Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: Great Marshalls all way round In full: Organisation was really good and all the marshalls and people manning drinks stations were very friendly and supportive. I almost didn't get out of the car to do this race as i was so nervous. The only moan is that from mile 2 to 5 I had the sweep bus right on my heels and I almost gave up and got on it! I was on target for me at a very slow 11 mins mile, but at moment that is my pace. I was ok when I manged to shake it off and pass a couple of runners and then mentally I improved as well and enjoyed rest of course. Date of review: November 23, 2008

In short: A really excellent course In full: I'd been told by clubmates that this course was dull, through industrial estates. They must have mixed it up with somewhere else, because the route is excellent, mostly over country roads and occasionally passing through interesting villages.
A challenging course - not really any part of the course is flat, but this added to the fun.
Definitely be back next year. Date of review: November 23, 2008
