In short: A hot and muggy Mayday 10k
In full: I've done this race three times now and unfortunately this one has to be below par for the organisation. The start wasn't announced and I seem to completely miss the start line / marker ..... was there one!
My race plan went to pots but thats my own fault.
All said though its a great way to spend May Day morning and I will definately do it again!
Thanks to the marshalls

In short: a good race not particularly fast because of the weather and running a 10k the previous day

In short: Great for the Mars bar afterwards!
In full: Crowd support not half as vocal as Bracknell half last week, but a few people out all along the course. The Fete seemed to add a pleasant atmosphere before and after but I've no idea where the actual start line was!

Weather was very muggy today - and we would have benefitted from a second water station.

Good course for PB's, inspite of the hill at 4k.

In short: A good value race, PB potential, but busy road spoils last 2k!
In full: My 2nd time at Shinfield and the May Day fete gives it a nice friendly feel. Medal and chocolate much appreciated for a relatively low-priced 10k.A twisty route but still with PB potential. Pity about the very busy road for the last 2k; concentrating on passing runners by jumping on/off the pavement, plus lines of traffic, puts paid to any real effort towards the end of the race.....and also a complicated route to the finish.....tight corners, narrow and muddy.
Still, a race worth running....well done RRR.

In short: Decent value, no frills event.
In full: A previous reviewer commented on marshalls, the one I asked at the start couldn't tell me where the baggage tent was - another runner helped me out. Also concur with previous comment on finish, I found it unclear where the finish was after turning the corner from the road, so kept going. But despite that, pretty well organised. good marshalling on the junctions around the route (esp in directing drivers trying to get into the garden centre at 9k), water station at about 5k, Mars bar and water at the finish. Gradual incline around 4-5k but quick route with definate PB potential. Overall no fills decent value event.

In short: A proper brief to car park marshalls who knew what they were doing would be nice.
In full: RRR not bad, but need to distance themselves from the 3k race which my son ran, it was very poorly organised, no times, so why bother with numbers, advertised at £3 but was £3:50, registration in a different place, none of the marshalls knew this..... as for the car parking, marshalls back to cars and chatting with friends, others on mobiles whilst others with hands in pockets, not very impressed. The race itself was well ran, just the before and afters, especialy with the cars afterwards... carnage would be a good word......

In short: Straight forward 10k race
In full: My third time at Shinfield, and once again it went smoothly with no dramas, and for the third time I broke my PB. The field at the end was a bit boggy, and the unmade road just after the start was a bit iffy with the parked car right on the corner and the water-filled potholes, but they aren't exactly things that the organisers have much control over. All-in-all it's a simple unpretentious 10k race that does exactly what it says on the tin. Thank you Reading Roadrunners for another good event.

In short: Pleasant fast 10k road run
In full: My first foray into the 10K distance, very pleasant, shame about the rain, but posted a quick time and it ran like clockwork. good work folks.

In short: Straightforward and enjoyable village race
In full: This is a straightforward and enjoyable village race, although the fete atmosphere was rather dampened this year as the heavens opened at the end of the race. The course is reasonable with just one long drag uphill in the 4th kilometre that you can make up with a largely downhill final 3k. We’ve had our doubts about the distance as so many seem to run PBs, but I got it slightly over 10k on my GPS so I guess it’s just a genuinely fast course. I took over a minute off my PB, although the 17 second difference between my watch time and the official time put me one second over 44 minutes which was annoying. Must run faster!

One minor comment – the medal was very cheap. A few extra pennies spent on the medal will give you a far nicer momento.
