In short: The three week freeze ended today leaving a slippery top surface with perma-frost underneath - it made the downhills special!

In short: Probably best for mountain goats.
In full: I was told that the scenery was stunning but I was too out of breath to notice. Great event and really well organised. Superb cakes at the finish. Hugely challenging course, 3 (or was it 4?) steep climbs - one needing your climbing gear although tested your ability to 'edge your skis' on the way down! - left me struggling when we hit the half mile mud track after 8 miles. Boy, I'm aching now!
