In short: Third time around - best time yet, although I don't know how because those slight inclines are a killer around 9, 10 and 11 miles.

In short: Great day!
In full: My first race and will not be the last!

On Monday morning I joined this site and will be racing again soon. Great to get back into running after stop from school. Football fighting against uni, beer and travelling was not a fair fight!

my only frustration, similar to others, was the walkers from the start. i was honest and was put in the back block. i did an ok time of 1hr 55min...but would have been better if i wasnt running around people

anyway, great day, kind of day that makes me proud to be british!

In short: Absolutely Fabulous!
In full: What an amazing day - this was my first GNR and probably not my last - i was worried about the hills - but after had done 3 the others seemed to disappear! Definitely need to put in some training - lots of people walking as soon as they crossed the start line! Perhaps a runners start and a walkers start would be better for next year! Apart from that - great experience - i wish i could have bottled how great i felt at the end!

In short: Fabulous!
In full: This was my first GNR, and I loved every minute of it!
The organisation was absolutely spot on, and the people along the way cheering us on were so supportive.
The weather was hot so all the water and lucozade stations were very welcome. As we were dressed as fairies, we attracted lots of "Howay Fairies!" shouts and this really spurred me on.
My friend found the amount of people walking/running slowly quite frustrating, and I have to agree that people should give an honest estimate of what time they will do. We had decided to do a slow pace and enjoy the day, and so came in at 2.16. I just wish others would do that.
However that is my only criticism.
The memory of running over the Tyne bridge with the Red Arrows swooping overhead will stay with me always.
Bring on the next one!
