In short: Running meets sub-aqua
In full: Back to the scene of my first-ever half after four years. Same well-organised, friendly race with a great course and cheerful supporters. Funny how memory plays tricks on you, but I'm convinced that more of it was above water last time ;-)

In short: Uplifting marshals / fellow runners and heartening local support!! Despite the weather
In full: I’ve been running for 1 year and this was the wettest race I have ever done! However, once the race got going, the rain wasn't too much of a problem. Big thanks to those who supported the runners so enthusiastically!

A very well organized race. Best tasting cuppa tea post race.

The jelly team will be back next year for sure!

In short: Hopefully will be back in the future in better weather!
In full: I enjoyed this despite the weather. Thanks to all the marshalls and people at the water stations for enduring the wind and rain. Well organised, although I do agree with other comments that the entry fee should be able to fund more then a bottle of water at the finish.

In short: Water everywhere but not enough to drink
In full: The scenery was exceptionally beautiful and running on traffic free country lanes was a pleasure that can't be taken for granted. I suspect that is what validates the cost in lieu of a generous goody bag or T shirt. One big gripe is very short water stations on only one side of the road (most in a boggy pool that runners were trying to avoid). They were hidden around blind corners and the notices had blown down so you had to double back once you realised you'd missed a water station. A small gripe is the harsh and accusatory tone of the pre-race booklet. Other races go just as smoothly even if the organisers have a friendlier way of laying down the rules. All things said and done I'll definitely consider it again but will risk entering on the day, weather dependant.

In short: Bad weather, nice course, a bit expensive
In full: Nice course gently undulating, pleasant last few miles downwards, medal a bit flimsy and no goody bag to speak of. A bit expensive for a very simple race which wasn't and needn't be marshalled that heavily. Would have been nice to have a warm (free) drink at the end. Parking on the grass needed some straw.

In short: Superb, other than the weather
In full: If you're not scraping a few secs of a PB this is a great race - challenging undulations, bit of trail, good support even when it's too grim to be running.

Only gripes are that the medals aren't year-specific and that it bloody slung it down - but I suppose you can't really blame the organisers for that.

In short: Perfect conditions for a half, shame this was only after i'd finished!
In full: Despite the weather a great race. Very well organised and marshalled and as others have said, the support was exceptional. Would have liked a bit more than a medal and a bottle of water though, especially seeing as the medal was identical to previous years.
