In short: A jolly inoffensive way to spend Sunday morning. My first race in the rain. Abso-bloody-lutely spiffing!

In short: Lots of club runners, fast course & good for chasing a pb
In full: Poorly supported and lacking in atmosphere but very wet weather probably didn't help.
Road(s) weren't closed but thought the marshalls did an excellent job with the traffic.

In short: VERY average local 10k
In full: I assumed as this was sold out that it would be a great race. However the race wasn't signposted at all, and I would have struggled to find it if I did not have a passenger. Had to park miles away from the start line. Start was very congested, and the first 3 miles was along a busy road that wasn't closed. "nd half was back along the tow path.

Overall I didn't like this race, it didn't seem to be as well orgainsed as a lot of the races I have donme so far this year. Mind you I set my 2nd fastest time over 10k, even so I won;t be coming back.

In short: A very enjoyable race
In full: Friendly race with scenic second half. Unfortunately got lost on way and so missed the start otherwise would have been sure of a pb. Will definitely be back next year to prove it! A nice medal too.

In short: Dull first half, scenic second half and thank goodness for the rain!
In full: I believe that it's hot and sunny more often than not for this race. This year we were blessed with grey skies and fairly gentle rain which was great for the running but did mean that people left fairly promptly after finishing.
First half is along roads with no pavement for the first few kms; fortunately the traffic wasn't too bad. Second half along the towpath was infinitely better though I suspect in better weather there would've been far more dog walkers and cyclists to dodge.
Start line was not particularly clearly marked and I suspect it would'be been easy to miss the km markers.
First time I've done this event and will definitely do it again.

In short: Down came the rain...
In full: Weather didn't spoil the occasion, it just helped cool us all off, evident in the lack of people grabbing water off the martials half way!
It's a fast flat course, the towpath's not bad. Good marshalling, the parking wasn't too near but that's no fault of the club, thats down to the leisure centre being rebuilt. Lot's of fast club runners, nice atmosphere.
I like the golden medal! Not a bad race at all for a few quid reallY!

In short: The rain seemed to make it easier than normal
In full: Good friendly race. The rain did dampen the atmosphere a bit pre and post race as people didn't really want to stand round in it. However the rain also probably kept a lot of dog walkers and cyclists off the tow path which was good.
