In short: Local favourite despite horrible hills!
In full: Please can we have k markers for a k race? Lack of bag very commendable but a tad tricky to manage. Still not nearly enough loos. Hurt like he'll after a bad week but I'll be back again in 2011...

In short: Great atmosphere, scenic finish running towards Longleat house, and yes a couple of nice hills to climb
In full: I was a little nervous about the hills having read the reviews of last year's race, but they weren't that awful. There is plenty of time to recover in between and the finish is long, straight and flat. The organisation was good and parking plentiful and close to the start line. A really enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning.

In short: Hills, hills, hills!
In full: Having comfortably completed my first 10k last month, i was feeling fairly positive about this one. The hills killed me though, and i ended up walking on 3 occasions. I'd have to be a lot fitter to try this one again next year! That said, lovely scenery, well organised, and some nice goodies at the end.

In short: Gorgeous race with some cheeky hills
In full: Lovely race in beautiful surroundings, but the hills are tough (not mountain like, but steep enough to really slow you in your tracks, and repeated several times). Still worth putting yourself through it though (even as one of the less speedy competitors!

In short: Good route, marshalled well. Overpriced for what is laid on
In full: You advertised the house as open on your web site, it wasn't.
You needed more toilets, and K markers on a K race may be a good idea.
The medallion and goodies at the end were great but unless your an octopus, difficult to accept. Air cadets marshalled it all very well.

In short: Tough ascents but speedy descents!
In full: Was dreading the hills and although they were tough, they do come down again! So a chance to recover and make up a bit of time. I normally don't like races that repeat laps or sections but I didn't mind this one as I knew the downhill section towards the finish was coming and spurred me on! Good atmosphere and friendly. Very nice medal, only queued for the loo for a couple of minutes and I didn't mind not getting a carrier bag, I don't like them anyway!

In short: Great race again
In full: I did this race in 2009 as well, I think it was easier last year. The first loop was done the other way around so there was a gradual climb away from the house, followed by the sharp descent. Not complaining though, I knew it would be this was around this time and I had braced myself for THAT hill! A well organised race, two minor issues... not enough loos (again) and after running a PB, my motor skills werent good enough to juggle two drinks bottles, packets of energy products and nut bars and the medal of course!.... a bag was needed as I kept dropping it all back to the car park!!! That said, it was ALL greatly appreciated... munched my way through most of it on the way home.

In short: Very well orgainised
In full: Good race for spectators as the course loops back round to the start at Longleat house at 3k, and then again at 7k and also the finish. The finishing straight is a deceptively long last kilometer, but very nice view running down the approach to Longleat house.

The Hills are a killer, there is a 230ft climb in the 1st Kilometer, which is repeated at 7k and a steep 270ft climb between 4k and 5k. The downhill sections are a welcome break, but definitely not a pb course.

Lots of marshall on route, and very well organised at both the start and the finish.

Nice medal and lots of goodies after.

Will be back next year.
