In short: Totally awesome experience
In full: What an amazing experience for my first ever marathon.Loved every moment of it,the only tiny criticism would be that on the day the weather was just way too hot for endurance running but nobody can control the british weather.

The whole operation is run so smoothly and is very well organised. The marshalls did a great job and the people lining the route in their thousands were just superb and lifted me greatly towards the end especially within the last 4 to 5 miles when my energy levels were almost on empty!

Well done london and a great touch too in putting on free transport to the start and back on the day for runners, other big events could learn a lot from this flawless organisation.
The medal is by far the best i've ever seen from a race also plenty of free goodies to be had in bags and at the expo.

In short: Awesome!
In full: Almost impossible not to get sucked in by the atmosphere on race day. Crowds packed solid for nearly the entire length of the course and the crowd noise was truly unbelievable; I think earplugs may have come in handy! How much pb potential the course has probably depends on where you start in the field, I was lucky enough to be near the front and so pb'd by nearly 9 minutes despite the slightly warmer than desired temperatures and given that this came off the back a less than ideal training programme makes me think that it has to be pretty quick. Add in the fact that the end of the route takes you past some great London landmarks and that it also has to be one of the cheapest big city marathons to enter anywhere and all in all you have an absolute winner!

In short: Sadomasicists favourite
In full: Another hard, painful, exhausting workout on the streets of London.
But for some strange reason I just keep coming back for more.

In short: AMAZING!!!
In full: You can run 26.2 miles anywhere but I doubt you will see crowds like this anywhere else. This was my first marathon so I will be seeing for myself if anyone can beat that atmosphere. I doubt it...

In short: Continued excellence!
In full: Last year I missed my PB by 39 seconds, this year I was 7 seconds slower than last year. Oh well. Fantastic race, very well organised, gels were welcome too! No complaints except for the hotel bed which gave me back pain before the start!
100% uplifting crowds, the official marshalls were full of encouragement too. Great start, queues at the loos were better than for many local races, baggage transfer spot on. Just replace 10,000 non-runners (i.e. the ones who didn't even register!) with ballot places please!

In short: An event that you'll remember for years. Great organisation, marshalls, people manning the drinks stations, the crowds and the other runners. The scenery wasn't bad either, especially the finish line. I'll be back next year, hopefully.

In short: So hot but still fantastic
In full: It was really too hot for me but crowds and the atmosphere just kept me going. Was sorry to miss out on a PB but really pleased to have finished without falling apart:-)

Thank you soooo much to all the volunteers along the way.
