In short: A fast course in a nice area, with good potential for times.
In full: I got out fine, but spent over half an hour waiting to get in, luckily I was as early as they asked.

Support was great. Course was good except for that Alp just when your legs were dying, and the narrow points where runners/handcyclists were going both ways. The weather was lovely however, even the breeze being cooling rather than cold.

It would have been easier to run the course in reverse, as the rough paths and the sandy areas would have been easier to negotiate when strong, however I understand that it would have been more difficult to get the numbers through some of those areas.

In short: Good race but tougher than expected.
In full: All in all a well organised race with that was good value for money. A bit up and down in places and I found it mentally tough as you could see the turn around points miles ahead of you, knowing once you reach it you've got to run all the way back.
Car park was main issue, waited over 45 mins to get out and moved about 2 metres. Ended up giving up and went to get something to eat. I'm sure this could have been manned better. If the parking had been better organised I would probably have come away much more positive about the race.

In short: not totally flat
In full: Lovely weather with nice sea views and breeze but some uphill sections but these were at the beginning so not to bad.

In short: Fast fun route
In full: Very good race, first time & set a PB probably due to ideal conditions.
Was held up in traffic on the way in, and based on other comments glad I pulled over before reaching the car park.
The atmosphere was good, there weren't that many spectators but a good proportion were enthusiastic (especially the kid handing out jelly babies at about the 9th mile).
Only minor quibble was the mile marking - I think we had some "short" miles at the start, which made me think I was running faster than I was!

In short: 1st Half marathon and I really enjoyed it - helped by the glorious sunshine!
In full: As others have commented getting the event was a nightmare through Llanelli, had to leave the missus in the traffic jam and use the run to the start as my warm up! May be the growing popularity means some better traffic solutions!

In short: A thoroughly enjoyable race enhanced this year by the improved weather conditions.
In full: This year I was 12 seconds slower than last year which was in atrocious conditions and well minutes outside my recently gained pb, frustrating. Every race strives to do their best and this seemed to be the case in most areas. Left at 9.30 to be there an hour before for 64 mile journey and did'nt get there until 11.20 due to congestion, liason with local council and police is essential to avoid this next year.

In short: Excellent weather made for enjoyable run
In full: I arrived earlier than most it would seem as I experienced no problems turning up at the event - though I didn't see any signs posting to the event so did wonder if I was heading in the right direction!

Wondered whether I'd got the start time wrong - sure it was supposed to start at 11am - got pretty cold and stiff waiting for the start.

Like another reviewer had not mentally prepared for the uphill/downhill sections which although quite short were quite steep in some sections and more than my tired legs could take between 12th mile and end!

10th mile was indeed long!

Announcer was excellent and was the first person I had ever known to get my name pronounced right without an explanation and announcing people home is a nice touch even for us back markers.

Lack of support along the course other than at the start/end line could make it quite lonely when you need a bit of a kick at the end.

All in all a good race but not enjoyable for me as my home town race of Cardiff.
