In short: wouldn't like to live next door to the lady banging her kitchen pans:)
In full: Good atmosphere all around the route.
Slightly difficult to navigate around the bed, but full marks to the guys pushing it all the way around.
Too many people wearing headphones not able to hear polite requests to move aside when passing them.
Wasn't there for a goody bag so not really too concerned that they had run out but having finished in the top half of the field I am surprised that they had run out before I finished and a shame for those finishing towards the back who tend to be non club runners/first timers and appreciate these.
Finish area a bit chaotic, managed to squash a little dog being dragged around by someone - sorry, but don't always look down when trying to find out where the water station is at the end of a run. Then I was knocked around by so many non runners keen to greet others that the first cup of tea I managed to hold securely after finishing was empty by the time I found a safe space to drink any of it.
The bit between passing the bed and tea soaking was good fun though even if i did struggle badly for the final 2 miles.

In short: Worth coming for the atmosphere
In full: Upbeat race. Thanks to all involved. The enthusiastic crowds really helped, especially with handing out fruits and sweets. Thanks also to the bagpipers, I really liked them playing us off near the start and the solitary piper en route.

I didn't realise that there were goody bags until I read the last post, so I am somewhat miffed on missing out. That needs fixing.

Demarcation for getting into approximate finishing times could be made much clearer future. Although it was my fault for not getting nearer the front, the lack of clear signage may have contributed to the glut of slower runners near the front impeding faster runners from passing. However, I'll know this next year, as I'll be back for more as really enjoyed it.

In short: One of the UK's best races slightly underdone by fewer perks
In full: This is consistently a top-ranking race, but I was hugely disappointed by the fact that the goody bags ran out so early. I finished in 1:32 and yet the bags had already gone! I'm also repeatedly annoyed at the lack of lanyards for the medals. These are minor quibbles in the scheme of things, I suppose, for such a well-supported race. It's brilliant to see so many spectators out in force every year for this one.

In short: Well run race and the crowds on route - exellent
In full: I ran the race for the 1st time this year, and was impressed with the route. Challenging yes and enjoyable at the same time.

The crowds were exelent all along the route, Clapping, cheering, giving out pieces of Oranges, simply exellent support. Well done to the people of Hastings. Its a pity the support is not the same on every race i do !!

In short: A mean route with a fantastic atmosphere
In full: This was my first race but being from Hastings I had some idea what to expect. Runners always seem to have positive things to say about the race and now I can see why.

The atmosphere is fantastic, the locals come out in force to support the runners, there are people lining the road from the very first corner all the way round to the final stretch. People handing out slices of orange and banana along the ridge was a welcome surprise. Great feeling getting to the Conquest Hospital to see some guy holding a sign saying "the worst part is over"

In short: Challenging but worth it
In full: If there is a better supported half marathon in the country I'd like to know where it is. There is support all the way round even up the Queensway by-pass. (The long, long hill to the Ridge)
A great race and my second attempt shaving 8 minutes off last year.
Great organisation and will definately be back.

In short: Hills harder than I remembered
In full: My thirs time here - last in 2008. I'm sure those hills have got harder, or just my legs getting older. Hit a brick wall at 11 miles, so goodness knows what it would haved been like had there been a strong wind against me.
Love this race though - the people of Hastings give incredible support - really one of the best supported races out there.
I'll be back to get cloder to my goal of 1:26
