In short: Nice relaxed race but gad it was hot In full: Definite PB potential if it's not as hot as it was this year. Some nice touches, such as the timing pen markers being the wrong way round, the double-start (at least for those nearer the back. The bottle of wine I was presented with at the end was definitely a nice touch. Parkland location good for a picnic afterwards. Must also congratulate them on adding in an extra drinks station, it was needed. Date of review: July 2, 2006
In short: Good race In full: Increase in marshalling required, particularly on the course. Also back marker required Marshalls needed communication method i.e. radio to increase responsivness time to emergencies Date of review: July 5, 2005
In short: friendly, well-organised, not that flat In full: Well-organised race in pleasant countryside. The fairly gentle slopes and one little hill may not be enough to make it officially undulating, but if you're expecting a billiard table you'll be disappointed.
The one organisational problem is the bottle-neck at the start. There were apparently problems with the edge of the footpath not being trimmed, but really the path was just too narrow. The starters were arranged into time-bands, and some runners didn't help by being over-optimistic about their finishing time, but I suspect the only solution will be to redesign the course so that it's wide enough until the field spreads out.
