In short: Great support In full: Nice location, real bottle neck at the beginning and i got a number putting me in the last group despite putting 1hr 40 as expected time which meant weaving through walkers and people dressed as bananas. That aside, well marshalled, suberb support and a pretty flat course. Nice to see the elites run past as well. Thoroughly enjoyable Date of review: March 6, 2011
In short: You even get to see the Kenyans coz they lap you at mile 4. Brilliant! In full: Lovely day, great atmosphere, supportive crowds and marshals, and best of all you get to see the Kenyans sprint past you on their second lap. Worth coming just for that! This year I made it to mile 4 before being lapped - an improvement! Better organisation than in previous years (although I didn't use the park and ride this time)and a great goody bag - best one I've ever had (running magazine, museli bar, fruit bar, lots of freebies including blister packs, foot cream, body lotion AND a very welcome Mars bar, Yum! In short: good day out In full: I think the organisers come in for a bit of unfair stick here. Ok its not the most scenic route in the world, but if it was changed to other parts of bath it would be more hilly (probably not as practical from an organisation point of view) and people would moan it was too hilly. The runners village was well organised, as was the whole event, the support along the way was awesome. The pens at the start of the race worked well. All in all a good race will be back next year Date of review: March 6, 2011
In short: Good event In full: Overall a good event, well marshalled and organised with some terrific support enroute - live bands, blarring stereos and great cheering. For me the only thing that let this event down was the route, it was dull - it was more of a case of running along boring roads than through the beautiful city of bath!! Date of review: March 6, 2011
In short: Nice race, pity you don't see more of the nicer parts of Bath In full: Well organised if you're near the front - sounded like there we a fair few bottle necks at the start. The route was very clogged on the early miles.
Fantastic support all the way around. Loved the live bands and hi-fis blaring out of top floor windows - makes a real difference. Date of review: March 6, 2011
In short: Wish I had trained more!! In full: have done this race several times as it's local. Despite all the problems of years gone by I still come back for more and enjoy it! Crowds are great and so supportive of everyone as are some of the runners who encourage people when they are struggling! next time I will not be talked into doing it however when I have not put in the training!!! Boy it was hard and got my slowest time!! but still enjoyed it...well the sun was shining!!!! Date of review: March 6, 2011
