In short: Great support in the rainy south
In full: Really enjoyed this. Weather appauling, but fellow runners great fun at the line up, support ace - despite the awful weather. Car park exit was very good from the race (much, much improved on last year). Cried like a baby as I got a good PB. Apologies to all those witnessing the pathetic blubbing - it comes off the back of a horrid half marathon/cold and desire to never run again.

In short: Well organised, flat run. Would be nice in September out of the rain.
In full: Good run, and the 3 waves of runners were perfectly set off, making running so much easier for the faster runners. Nice medal and a good tshirt,(much better design than last years)! Weather was a bit of a downer, but at least keep me cool as I was running around. Getting in and out of the car park was a bit slow, but there's not a lot can be done about that. Only downer really was that at £30, and all the knowledge about taking on board protein and carbs after a race, there were no shakes or bananas available to runners at the end and I thought they could at least provide these. Oh, and only 1 lucozade given out in the race to, along with 2 waters.

In short: Personal Best - Shame about the weather
In full: Pity that leading up to the race it rained constantly with it letting up only 5 mons from the start. As ever, there is never enough under cover space when this happens. The race was good, excellent atmosphere and as always fast.

In short: Cracking race - shame about the weather.
In full: This was the first 'proper' race I had taken part in and it was superb. The weather was awful so the wife and kids went to the Aquarium which was v v close to the start line. However the streets were lined with spectators / supporters and it was a superb atmosphere (1:22.44 time for the record).

In short: Wet but suprisingly not too windy!
In full: As anyone that has done this regularly will know, the last 2 miles are usually extremely windy. So it came as both a shock and suprise that this year was mild in comparison to previous years. Even Paula Radcliffe was caught out, admitting that she kept some in reserve in readiness for the 2 mile wall!!
The light rain actually served to keep the cold away and so present perfect conditions for a fast, enjoyable race.
The races started on time (thanks Channel 5 for the live coverage) but my only gripe (same as last year) is that they put clearly out of shape 'Celeb' runners right at the start of the elite (orange wave a). It means that quick club runners and everyone else behind has to dodge the clearly embarressed Z list.
Course however is brilliant. Flat and super fast and very well supported. There are frequent aid stations and lots of motivating music (take note pathetic Run to the Beat).
Goodie bag was fine with a very nice medal and always top quality, well fitting t-shirts. Great value for money. I'll be back time and time again.
One thing though, the new timing chips - many regular runners now use their own ankle band to secure their chip, these New flat chips may be great for shoes but can't be used with chip bands.
See you next year!
