In short: Well organised fun run. In full: The three tier start worked well. I believe only about 10,000 of the 15,000 entrants turned up. This ment although it was busy after the first mile or so the it thined out and there was plenty of room. (Unlike its Great North sister) Date of review: October 11, 2004

In short: You can't beat a goody bag! In full: A well organised race given the numbers involved, which is never going to be an easy task. That said, a more detailed map of Portmouth would've been v handy as I parked miles away without an inkling of how far from the start I was and was almost late.
A great atmosphere and charming route. Will defo do it again now that I know my way around the town. Date of review: October 11, 2004

In short: Good fun but runners need to graded on time, additional water stops needed and some signs to / from the station would be a real adavatage!! In full: Overall good fun and largely well organised but, isn't there always a but???, a few little things which will go a long way to improving the race!!! 1. Grade the runners on time so that slow folk like me don't frustrate the speedsters and people who are walking six abreast down the route don't frustrate us both!! 2.Some signs to or a map in the brochure of the location of the station relative to the would really have helped. 3.Better organisation of water stations, In particular put some signs up saying which side of the road they are on so folk who don't want a drink can move out of the way of those who do and vice versa! In short: Not bad, but Portsmouth isn't the most scenic + more water please In full: Very well organised, though the allocation into start groups seemed rather arbitrary (I put down the same predicted time as 2 friends, but they were in the 1st group, I was in the last?!). Also, 2 water stations over 10 miles wasn't quite enough Date of review: October 11, 2004

In short: At last! no head wind to the finish, and a t-shirt that fits and I can be proud of. 11 out of 10 to whoever made sure that only genuine fat-boys got the XXLs. Missed PB by 2 mins - must train for more than 7 weeks prior to race. Date of review: October 11, 2004
