In short: well organised race In full: first time for me at this one amd I thought it was well organised (not a lot the organisers could do about the heavily waterlogged section caused by the weather) Only small gripe I have is that it wasn't obvious where the finish line was, the funnel started about 15m infront of the inflatable which caused a bit of confusion as some people stopped as soon as they entered the funnel and some kept running until the inflatable. In short: Good one In full: I was looking forward to this race as it was described as a flat race & the majority of the other races I've completed this year have been far from flat together with the lack of training I had put in I was hoping for a relatively easy one! The weather over the last few days played a big part in many areas of the race which was new to me but added to the day. I liked having a variety of surfaces but I was disappointed that the organisers didn't have enough official medals (the square engraved ones) by the time I finished the race. All the marshalls were great & encouraging. Met some lovely people and would do the race again. Looking forward to seeing the pics! Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: lovely rural scenery and fast course. In full: This was my first running race/half-marathon and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The only (unavoidable) issue was the wading through that very long stretch of cold muddy water (but it had rained relentlessly the past week). I thought the facilities were good (hot showers, hot cuppa and biscuits after)and everyone was very friendly. Crowds were also very supportive. I was expecting to complete in 2hrs and 30mins and I did it in 2hrs 3mins, so a good PB for me. Overall, a great run (helped by the good weather) in a beautiful rural location. Would do it again. In full: A nice run. A bit harder this year than I would have expected due to the rain. A few minor things I would recommend they change is the profile and the traffic. The race says flat, and although it's not too hilly miles 6-8 are up hill. And when it says it's traffic free, it aint.
All good though and would do it again

In short: Beginner friendly In full: I ran this today, and it was my first ever race. I was nervous about finding it and doing the admin (struck me that there was less communication for this than I've seen my wife get when she's raced), but I needn't have worried, they'd communicated as much as was needed: it was all evident enough on the day, and doing the admin was made pleasurable by friendly people.
Good route, I even enjoyed the water logged section. Friendly supporters, and a nice medal.
Congrats to the organisers, it was well done. Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: My best half marathon time yet! In full: Did hell runner last weekend which made this feel easy in comparison! Well organised and marshalled. My only gripe was the 20 min wait to get out of Salt Ayre car park. I can't blame the organisers for that though. Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: Pity about the recent weather but a great little race In full: Recent deluges had led to the cinder cycle track being muddy, and there were some HUGE puddles (including a 300m water hazard) but that's not the organisers' fault - overall a good race, with the potential for a quick time in normal conditions. Minute's silence was a nice touch - but the people at the back who kept on chatting and laughing should be shhhhhh! Date of review: November 8, 2009
