In short: I love this race and will be back again in 2009
In full: Despite the rain, this was another enjoyable run for me. The marshalls were very supportive, the goodby bags were generous and the event was very well organised and I was kept informed ahead of the race. I'll be back for more next year.

In short: Pretty park, realxed race, and friendly runners
In full: My PB.... but I've only done 2 10ks!

They led a warm up first for us all together as a group which was great and a good ice breaker.

Staff were really helpful, even when I went home without my medal they posted it and my Tshirt to me straight away!

Would do it again. :)

In short: Nice scenery for a 10k .... Poor organisation!!
In full: Start delay by 15mins. Waited for the presentation to receive a medal, which did not have ribbon. T-Shirt stating XL but really L.
Most marshalls could not have been bothered as they were chatting on Mobile Phones.
One Question: Who organised this race?
Take note for next year!

In short: Poorly organised, unmeasured (short) course, lots of off-road
In full: A little short of a shambles. Not enough marshals, and none that were experienced, for a course which uses the paths in a pleasant suburban park, but then also meanders around for lengthy section each of the three laps on grass. Had the previous week's weather been wet, then this could have passed for a cross-country.

The advertised kids' fun runs never happened.

The race started more than 15min late (because the organiser was disorganised), keeping the runners waiting.

The course was no where near an accurate 10km (around 600m short?).

And where were the T-shirts for all finishers?

Can't find any race results, either (the kids on registration never asked about any age groups) - so basically I paid £10 for a training run in a public park...

In short: Relaxed and friendly.
In full: This was my second 10k ever. I enjoyed it more than the Leatherhead 10k partly because I prefer laps and partly because there were no steep hills. It made for fast times (even if it wasn't quite 10k) and there was no pressure.
I felt I could relax and enjoy myself - maybe that's why I ran well! A couple of 'tight' bends on each lap but nothing too hair-raising. At least there were no streams/rivers to run through or stiles to climb over.
The organisation of the event could have been better. The start was not marked although the finish was (the water bottles). At the end it was unclear whether to help yourself to a bag or wait for a presentation.
The bags were hit and miss if you got anything exciting, but at least there was an apple!
It was a Fun Run.

In short: Very poor organisation but good mementoes
In full: The race started late and with no loudspeakers the warm-up was a game of Chinese Whispers. No distance markers meant that laps were the only measurement available. Some marshalls were quite grumpy and at the finish there was no cheery welcome and you had then head back across the playing field to the cricket pavillion. Lots of dogs (largely without leads), cyclists, other sports events, prams, walkers and families out and about combined with narrow paths led to some hold-ups which could have been avoided had there been some signs on the route warning passersby of the race (some asked what the race was and had charity collectors been nearby they could have upped their collecton considerably and helped keep the route clear by wandering along the route). Chaos at the end as some grabbed goody bags and T-shirts and left before we were told to wait. Everyone made to wait for the presentaions then asked to collect T-shirt (fun but loads of XL and L with just a few M sizes!), goody bag and medal (some on ribbons) resulting in a scrum. Decided to get a shower but the only showers were for men only. So, headed home pleased with my haul but a bit disappointed in the organisation of the event. Set a new personal best but the route was altered on the day due to another sporting event so it was under 10km. Good value for money and plenty of parking but please can the organisation and signage be better next year!
