In short: Well Done In full: Thank you to all the organisers and marshalls. A very enjoyable run - a bit slippy on THAT hill but the time made up for it. Was it really 5 miles-if so I've done a PB? The mile markers really weren't that confusing. An a great freebie - thanks again Date of review: December 24, 2006
In short: Excellent first time event. In full: Well done Martin and Cathy for organising yet annother excellent race. You know that there were a few shortcomings but I know that I don't need to list them as you will already have made notes to rectify the (minor) problems for next year! It was great fun wearing my Ms Santa outfit and I hope next year more will join me in dressing-up. The marshalls were brilliant and very encouraging, the medal was great and I got a mile pb and a 5 mile pb! Can't ask for more than that ;-)))) Hope you raised loads of dosh for the Martha Trust. In short: Great pre christmas run with good atomsphere In full: Good event and really friendly marshalls. Shame the Mulled Wine ran out but with 100+ registering on the day a shortage or goodies is to be expected. Liked the two laps, the hill was certainly managable and at least you know to keep some in the bank for the second time around. I felt absolutely NO confusion with mile markers..even the most inexperienced runner must be able to work out they haven't run 3 miles in about 10 mins or less!!
This one is all about enjoying a nice run out with a festive touch.
In short: Great family atmosphere. In full: Very well done on this inaugural race, there will need to be improvements of course but overall very good. What will need attention is the accurate measurement of the course, and, because it is a multi-lap course, the mile markers could indicate the mile for each lap. For example, we got to Mile 1 with the marker saying Mile 3, and Mile 2 showing as Mile 4. Therefore. perhaps have two markers side by side showing which lap they refer to. Get me? Good to hear the Race Director state at the post-race prizegiving that shortages on medals and Christmas puddings would be sorted out to those without.
Keep it up, and let's keep raising funds for the Martha Trust, the prime beneficiary of the event. That's the most important thing. Date of review: December 23, 2006
In short: Nice course In full: Well new course and very nice indeed even when your not feeling well! nice marshalls and great on site facilities only moan not enough goodies to go around! some of the mile markers where very confusing, several of the runners thought they where on there last mile in fact there was 2 more to go! In short: The muddy hill was a killer In full: The first half of the lap was ok, but the big hill in the second half was a killer especially as it was wet, muddy and very slippery. The majority of runners were club runners, so those at the back get lapped pretty early. A one circuit would be better Date of review: December 23, 2006
In short: it would be nice to do a 5 mile loop and not have to do that hill twice In full: it would be nice to do a 5 mile loop and not have to do that hill twice. Also I would prefer to run on the narrower trails; there are a lot of them. Date of review: December 23, 2006
