In short: A new challenging course. Marshalls and spectators were as supportive as always. The route wasn't as scenic as before but hillier. I kept thinking of the Potter's Arf. Berry Park was a good finishing location. I'll be back next year.

In short: Hard Half marathon for a beginner!
In full: My first half marathon. i found hard going on the hills & I'm from a hilly part of Derbyshire. I feel sorry for people from flat areas.
Organisation excellent and marshalls very supportive. I'm pleased I had arranged alternative parking nearby as event parking entrance looked a bit chaotic.

In short: A tough but thoroughly enjoyable race.
In full: The hills are a major part of this race (13 hills in 13 miles and all that) I hope they remain. Organisation excellent, great atmosphere around the course. Weather was kind for the runners but not for spectators!! Lots of things going off around the finish area. Great place to finish is Berry Hill Park.

Definately worth it, although I think the race should be advertised far more locally.

In short: Uninspiring route, challenging hills but friendly atmosphere
In full: Hideous route criss-crossing some of the less attractive part of the area. The Pleasley leg in previous years was much nicer. The hills just kept coming but still managed to knock 4 mins off last year at 1.39 so went home contented.

In short: A challenging course
In full: Wow, what a good hard half.

Although that was one of the hardest courses I've run so far, I'll certainly run it again. Plenty of marshals all along the course, the only downside was the roadside support was a bit thin but that was more down to the recent weather than the venue. Thought one of the inclines would never end but going uphill means you have to come back down.

In short: bring back the old course!
In full: I know i sound like a stick in the mud!! but the race has gone from quite country lanes to bus routes and lorries (choking on fumes!) The route was good and tough but the setting was not so good. I can't say anything bad about the organisation, great as always but please lets get back to nature....

In short: Top band playing in the park!!!
In full: The signposting was very poor and I got lost on the way.Queues into Berry Hill Park were horrendus(45 mins before start).Enjoyed the challanging course.I thought the first 3 miles were quite easy but the hills between 6 and 8 were tough. The band in the park were fantastic(I can remember them from the old course).Finished in 1.31 so happy with that

In short: How do you train for this!
In full: I found it very tough - I've done hilly half marathons before but these hills were relentless.

I'll be back next year but will really have to examine my training reigime because I would need a lot more hills in my training to ever prepare for this. I was 11 minutes slower than my PB!
