In short: Brilliant start to the racing year - thankyou Stratford! In full: I'd forgotten that the first half was the uphill bit then it all came flooding back after the first 2k! Great for an early road race to test the winter training. Really well done for getting the race on and for the communication up to the race, superb organisation... Date of review: January 17, 2010

In short: A Good start to the year with perfect weather In full: Well after the indifferent weather of the last few weeks Stratford won the pools and had what I consider to be perfect weather for their race. By the looks of things there was a big turnout with very few no shows, probably because most of us were glad to actually get out and run.A good course ,that slow upward climb from where you get onto the main road is quick long and gets you ready for that one slightly testing hill after the first water stop. You can more than make up for lost time after this though as it's mainly downhill with a fairly flat fast finish.A word of thanks to the marshalls too plenty of enthusiasm from them all in all a good day, I was 3 minutes quicker than last year too! In short: An ideal start to the running year. In full: After days of depressing snow and ice and then rain, what a perfect Sunday greeted us. No breeze, perfect running conditions and sunny throughout. The Marshalls were wonderful and encouraging, the organisation excellent and the route nicely undulating but never murderous! If you only do one road run in January, do this one. Date of review: January 17, 2010

In short: Second year doing this race and better knowing when the tough sections are coming In full: A really enjoyable race to get you back into the rhythm if you have indulged at christmas. Found it easier this year, particularly as I knew it was fairly easy for the second part of the race. Great stewarding again. Many thanks Stratford AC Date of review: January 25, 2009

In short: Near perfect conditions, great course with a fast finish, extensive prize list - I got a PB, plus 2nd place in the team comp. What more could you ask? Shame the womens race got messed up by a man running as a woman. Who'd be a race organiser?a Date of review: January 25, 2009
