In short: A thoroughly well organized, mapped and marshaled race. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Singing the National Anthem at the start you know it was going to be different, and it didn't disappoint!

In short: ooooh that hurt!!
In full: My first half marathon after pregnancy - maybe I should have chosen more wisely! It is a beautiful course in terms of scenary, but there is a lot and a lot and a lot more of up hill trail running. But some runners did really well - winner around 1 hour 15. I was well far back, but made it round and am still alive.

In short: Must remember to read instructions about hills
In full: Enjoyed it - would have liked some signs at the start to show people where toilets where (that said, there is a dirty great big leisure centre that I managed to miss!)
Nice, challenging course with some good hills that I had not prepared for. Really great stewards at this race and a big thanks to all of them. Good bag at the end and a great way to spend Sunday morning

In short: Thank you for getting me to love running again
In full: As the date of this race grew nearer I was feeling more and more daunted, in particular because I felt I hadn't done enough training and knew the course would be hilly - but I loved it. It seems ages since I've enjoyed a race and it was such a relief to feel joy in running again.

The marshalls were great, the hills manageable (apart from the one when I took an opportunity to have a quick chew - haven't yet got the knack of being able to get stuff out of my back pocket and eat, without walking yet) - and the one where I managed to trip over a tree root and fall flat on my face (fortunately no observers - just the dirt all over me being a bit of a give away).

I didn't do a fast time, but I was just so pleased to enjoy it.

Will be back next year!

In short: A run to put a smile on your face and keepit their despite the pain
In full: Might not be the Alps but there is nothing like a run around the beautiful North Downs. Did I say around? Maybe up and down and up a bit more with views to keep that smile on your face.

Not really one to enter if you are looking for a flat blast, The Badger is something to savour and take your time over - still I managed to knock 7 minutes off my PB.

Thoroughly recommend this run, great organisation - even if lack of proper chip timimg took me a few seconds over 2 hours dead.

Great T shirt, this one is not going to Oxfam.

Marshals supportive, plenty of drinks stations and the beer at the end was a nice touch - even to a non drinker!

In short: Terrific race
In full: This is a challenging route, no doubt about that, but the first man home (Tim Elsey) managed to do it in 1.15 (!!!) Crumbly custard! I started a bit behind everyone else and had the very great pleasure of running through the field, meeting loads of old friends and chatting with them...which meant that I had a nice relaxing first half, even though it's the half when you have to do the hardest work. Up at the highest part of the course I started to push on, and had a very enjoyable second half - I managed to catch a few good runners. Good finishThe whole race has a feel-good atmosphere, is very well marked, has great goodies and is very friendly. It's brilliantly well-organised (must be a contender for a top 10 race this year) - well done to Alan and Nicky at Events to Live, and all the great marshals and helpers!
