In short: Perfect start to the year and the 'olympic' course worked well. Thanks to Dr Rob and all the very encouraging marshals. Kids are on notice to get me up the stairs later.

In short: First olympic event of 2012 done
In full: Washing machine now completing second olympic event of 2012. I knew that I shouldn't have worn my best suit!
Great fun and a wonderful way to start 2012. Innovative 'extra half hill' bonus - just in case we still had some energy left to be sapped out of the legs.
Fantastic cameraderie amongst the runners and great support all the way around from marshals.
Felt sorry for the guy running with a snorkel for not getting the opportunity to try it out crossing the River Mole this year.
By law of averages next year it should snow, put my name down now for the 10th Anniversary featuring the Juniper Top Cresta Run.

In short: Leave out the tarmac rubbish, its for woosies and really boring
In full: Less of a challenge this year, 23% longer but only 9.5% more hill makes it 11% softer at 42.2m/km.
The old course was full Cat A Fell Race standard at 47.5m/km - the only one I know of around here ! (The Box Hill Fell Race later in the month is only 44.5m/km so thats a Cat B Fell Race)

In full: A brilliant run- low-key, simple but excellent and effective organisation, tremendous atmosphere and support all along the course. Nice touch to have names with numbers so people could call one by name. The course- magnificent- and I preferred coming back up the steps to going down them!

In short: Our knackers are crackered... ;oD
In full: Great race: mud, hills and steps that kill. Fantastic start to the new year. Highly recommend to all runners, but fancy dress is a must or you'll look a right wally! My garmin says 1720 total elevation gained! I'm not even going to look at my mile splits!

In short: Even better, thanks to 'bonus' hills!
In full: Just when you think it can't get better - or worse (depending upon your point of view), Dr Rob adds a nice, extra 2k of hilly terrain to what was already a killer race. Thanks for that stroll up Zig Zag, Dr Rob!
Once again, this race proved to be a high point on the calendar, with great camaraderie, top-notch marshalling, and excellent post-race goodies to ease the pain. Loved the tech shirt, and the heat-reactive coffee mug. Though the course conditions were challenging, the rain held off. However, this did not make the Box Hill steps any easier!
Thanks to all, and see you in 2013.

In short: HaRd.CoRe!
In full: I said last year 'no fancy dress for me', and stil ended up Wee Willy Winking it around the course. I always envisage I'll be able to run 100% of the time, but the truth of it is, the course is tough, the hills are hilly, the mud is swamp sticky, and you will suffer. The steps at the end were actually loaned to the National Trust by Satan himself.

Seriously though, great way to start the year - fellow runners dressed-up sufferering and well and truly, gloriously, knacker cracked. Thanks Rob - you the boss.
