In short: Great marshalls, great race. Well worth the journey In full: A good half which challenges without killing you! The off road section is more challenging than the average half and really requires a 2 mile shoe change for studs! With that a non-starter you slip slide away but you're soon back on the tarmac. Marshalling absolutely outstanding with great cheering and support. Well done Sleaford! Date of review: February 28, 2010

In short: Not PB conditions today, but a very enjoyable race nonetheless In full: Very nice race, with enthusiastic marshalls. The wweather wasn't going to help today, which meant that the Viking Way got a bit slippery. Hills nothing to write home about, although I didn't tend to notice the downhills until they were finished and the shallow climbs started again.
I'd love to do this again in better weather - but in February there's never any guarantee.
One small gripe, though. There was some loose barbed-wire across part of the dirt-track. An athlete in front of me got caught in it, unentangled himself, and then got caught in it again. This was probably because we were running to the sides of the track to find relatively stable ground. I'd have hoped that a hazard like that would have been spotted while checking the route conditions and marked, ideally by putting a marshall there.
Apart from that, though, and despite the weather, I enjoyed it. Date of review: February 28, 2010

In short: Mix of different surfaces, challenging in places, excellent atmosphere! In full: A really superb race, good fun and challenging. Bit of a mud bath in places due to the horrid weather. Friendly and very well organised. Goody bag nice and t-shirt is worth having. Well done Sleaford Striders I'll be back next year! Date of review: February 28, 2010

In short: Well organised, friendly and challenging In full: My third half, the previous two having been specifically chosen because they included that magic word "flat" so for me this was a bit more challenging esp with the off rod section. But I got a PB by over 4 mins, the marshalls were excellent, the mile markers accurate and overall the race was very well organised. From club colleagues I understand that even the weather conditions were better than previous years. Well done Striders. Date of review: February 28, 2009
