In short: My best and favourite race so far!!
In full: I absolutely loved this... to me this is what running and entering a race is all about. I did this with 6 other friends who all absolutlely loved it.
Fab location, great balance of terrain, plenty of mud, hills, logs to hurdle etc.. The atmosphere was brilliant. I agree with alot of people that there could possibly have been a few more marshalls on the course..however, this is my number 1 race, definately better than the Grim.....will def do next year, and also in November!!

In short: Tough but rewarding race with some shock enroute
In full: This is a tough race, a dirty race but a great race. Pretty well organised as long as you read the instructions and came fully prepared ie no showers so you needed to bring a large bottle of water to wash up afterwards etc.
The route is very twisty, turny and you had to keep your eyes peeled for the markers and direction signs and I actully got lost along with 5 others after the 9 mile point. By the time I finished I had clocked up just over 11 miles in total. Lesson learnt - don't follow the pack!
I'll be back next year though, well worth it!

In short: All the pain of a marathon condensed into just ten miles of hills and swamp - marvellous
In full: Having seen the details of this race on the web, it looked like great fun, and having run my first half marathon at Reading in April, I figured that I could cover the distance.

Little did I know.

The course is 10.5 miles of hilly cross-country, and is quite a challenge in its own right. Add the stretches of bog, ditch, mud, water, and temperatures in the mid-20s C and it takes on a new dimension. The first third of the course stretches the field out pretty quickly. The middle third saps your energy and introduces you to the first serious water, and then the final third is where you really get down and dirty.

I have never had so much fun in a race. Whilst not for the faint-hearted, this race is within the grasp of anyone who runs regularly, and there's a sense of achievement upon finishing that I doubt many races can offer.

I am definitely doing this race again, and I will be at Bordon in the Autumn.

Top marks to the organisers for devising such a challenging course and their first-class organisation. Lots of marshalls around the course, a great atmosphere, water stations at 5, 11 and 17k, and a goodie bag (but no medal) with a cool Turbo-X running T-shirt.

In short: Amazing! I was covered in mud, filthy, my feet are covered in blisters and at present I can barely walk! I've already entered the next one!

In short: Fantastic laugh, despite it's toughness Very generous goody bag. Though Bigger T-shirts would have been the winner.
In full: An excellent event. Much harder, and dirtier, than the Grim. The atmosphere was great and organisation impressive.

Only 2 miniscule gripes.
1) Not signposted if you were coming from the M4 junct 10 direction
2) The t-shirts, whilst very nice, were only in Mens large and below after 2hrs finishing and were more like large boys. With the larger chap (like me) finishing towards the back of the field sufficient larger t-shirts would have been better.

In short: very hot day.
In full: enjoyed this race, found the route just challenging enough but i think the organisers should make everyone run throw the bogs as the majority seemed to be going round i fought the whole idea was to get dirty, i had a good day and hope this event is on for next year.

In short: The mud was excellent!
In full: The first five miles provided a pleasant, undulating, off road track, with beautiful scenery. The second half incorporated a hell of a lot of mud! Which was great fun!
