In short: 25 years say it all, worth coming back to!
In full: All fine, nice course, only thing that is missing is some post race treat other than water. Could have done with some fruit or sugar but then again, people tend to sort it our themselves. A beauty of a race.

In short: One of trhe best half's of the year
In full: Despite the terrible weather, the organisers did a great job and there were so many marshalls out on the course!

In short: Nice to run on closed roads, thanks for that! Chaotic start with few showing regard of the seeding & runners joining from the side, not clear where start & finish line was, muddy wait for kit.
In full: Sure it would be a better experience in dry conditions. But do sort out the start - suggest stop runners joining from the side near the start, send them through the other gate further back. More notice of mins to start, and marshals patrolling up & down the start to encourage seeding.

Thanks for the run on closed roads, supportive marshals and good water stations.

In short: Long queue to put kit bag in tent, standing in cold rain. Also not clear where chip time started from

In short: fast and flat
In full: Great course - fast and flat, and reasonably scenic as well for most of it.

Thought the start was a bit of a fiasco, there were a lot of slow runners starting too far forward: why do people who are going to run > 100 minutes start at sub-75/sub-80 markers?
In retrospect I think the markers were too far separated - they essentially assumed that sub-70/70-75/75-80/80-85 all have equal numbers of runners.

In short: Will definitely do this one again!
In full: It was pouring with rain when I arrived, but once the race started the sun came out! A few hills but still a nice run. Nice atmosphere. At the finish line they could have done with moving people on as it was a struggle to get through the crowds of people chatting just past the finish! I think that is my only criticism. Thank you to all the marshalls, organisers and people clapping. :-)

In short: Just wasn't meant to be....trains, rain and queues
In full: Nearly didn't make it due to train terminating at Staines...perhaps that was a sign. Rain, mud, queues for toilets and baggage spoiled the race. Once underway, the weather turned for the better and friendly and supportive marshals on course made it a pleasant race. Liked the medal and cup of tea but would have been nice to get something to eat at the end, given that it was a half marathon. Undecided if I would do this race again - there are far better races I've done.

In short: Ultra fast course, but amateur organisation for such a well known race
In full: Echo a lot of what is said on other reviews

Good
Ultra fast course, not 100% flat which surprised me, but very straight and not many turns to make you break. Not as dull as that sounds either.

Good reputation, seemed a hub for good club runners from all the local series I run.

Bad

An overwhelming lack of urgency I felt. Noone realised how bad the baggage would be and I think the fact it's chip timed calmed people. Also people seemed to presume it would be delayed for a bit.

Didn't hear the starting signal, was it a gun, was it just some bloke saying go?
Where was the start line?! I had to gamble on where I think it was to time myself, and then later on heard the sound of the start mats, so probably started it too early?!

That bottleneck about 100metres in! Surely the start could just be shifted out on the road!

Just another note...how non observant are runners! On these reviews people moan about no medal, no hot drink, no food tent, no proper chip timing. All these were present people...sort it out!!!
