In short: Freezing cold puddles, big grins, men in thongs
In full: I ended up with blocks of ice instead of feet and it took the rest of the day to get them back to body temperature, but it was well worth it. I had a blast. Hats off to the guy dressed up as a wrestler in his gold mask and matching thong :)

In short: enjoyable run on a not too cold day.
In full: A few bottle necks in places but a few good sections of road to stretch the legs.
Water hazards not too bad. Worth the drive to get there.

In short: More Grim-in-places than Grim-throughout, but good fun!
In full: I did the sunday, for the first time and enjoyed it! Much of the early miles and the last 3 are not all that challenging, but the fun lies in the middle...

I'll be back next year no doubt. Did you all have a nice bath at home?

In short: Excellent event. Brilliant atmosphere. Great running weather
In full: Well, the Sunday weather couldn't have been better...cold and frosty when I arrived but warming up as the sun gained elevation. Just right to avoid overheating. In fact I ended up running without my hat and gloves.

I agree that there could have been a staggered start for latecomers...the chip timing allows for that, but the half hour delay wasn't really *that* inconvenient.

I found it less intimidating than I'd thought it would be. A lot of the wading could be avoided if you wanted to. Some of the frozen ruts were potential ankle snappers, but anyone doing this race really should expect the water, mud and ruts: the literature hardly hides it!

I loved it. It made a real change from the road races I've done recently. The atmosphere was superb. They ought to have a go at sorting out the eccentric mile marker placements next year though...it's not rocket science these days!

I'll definitely be back.

In short: Grimtastic fun!
In full: My first Grim, done Sunday so freezing cold but blue skies and sunshine made for a glorious day. Great mix of puddles, knee deep porridgey mud, trails, tracks, open land and forest. People have commented not Grim enough, but probably serves as a good introduction for the masses to the more extreme stuff.
Giggled all the way round - great fun, which is what its all about.

In short: Strange race, more wading than running - the last 3 miles made it worthwhile
In full: A cold and frosty start with glorious sunshine. The organisers made a bad decision to delay the race by half an hour for late-comers. This really spoilt the start, as we all got very cold. Should have dome a 10.30am start for the majority and an 11.00am start if they wanted for the late arrivals. Nice set of race officials and supporters; plenty of loos and baggage facilities.
The first 5 miles was hideous - very wet and muddy; plenty of thigh-deep puddles. The last 3 miles were glorious running on tracks in lovely countryside. Would do it again
