In short: A good Pre London race.... In full: Well 2nd time of doing the 16miler in April, and found it far better today than when i done my review for the October version. Maybe i am more a spring person...?
Seemed better organised (i did come by train this time so maybe avoided the normal parking problems) Roads were very well marshalled, and i seemed to pass easier this time. Nice weather too, in fact got a little bit warm on the 2nd lap. Enough drink stations, and Lucozade twice a lap. Again one of the slightly more expensive races, but is really good for a pre run before a marathon. Date of review: April 1, 2007
In short: Nice flat course on past the scenic thames and hampton court palace, met some nice people In full: well done Ben and his uncle, and good luck Jon and Jamie for FLM07 Date of review: April 1, 2007
In short: Flat and fast and very well organised In full: Some of the slower 8 mile runners were a bit of a rolling road block at the back of the first lap, and I maybe expected a little more in the goody department than the mug. But these are very minor quibbles. Overall a good race and great prep for the marathon later in the month. Date of review: April 1, 2007
In short: Very good again, not sure why this isn't rating higher (Parking maybe.....?!) In full: Apart from the parking fiasco (and this seems to happen every time, only 2 car parks are specified as open on the instructions - and these get long queues from early on, which means everyone is rushing for the toilet/start), this was very well run again.
It is a well marshalled (and water/energy drink stops excellent) and friendly race. The finish in the market square is great, and there is a decent amount of support given that this is really best described as a perfect training run for the London Marathon.
Well done Human Race, as always coming up with the goods! Except in the literal sense...please could you run two sets of mugs off for the two distances?! It just isn't as special having a mug that says '16 or 8.5 miles'!! ;)
I will be back again in October, and bringing more fellow runners with me as well! Date of review: April 1, 2007
In short: my personal race stank due to illness and lack of training, but i enjoyed this race, which deals with a huge field very efficiently, and still remains friendly. Bit of an early start mind! Date of review: April 1, 2007
In short: Good training pre-marathon though was congested, difficult to get into your stride for first few miles. In full: Signposting for carparks could have been better as I could only see one that pointed to Kingston center in general. No changing areas. Date of review: April 1, 2007
