In short: Brilliant race
In full: I loved this race. The scenery, the friendly marshalls, the atmosphere - all brilliant. I struggled today as hadn't done enough training but this course definitely has PB potential. Sadly I didn't get a 30th anniversary buff in my goody bag - maybe they were only for the faster runners?

In short: Geat race, great atmosphere
In full: I think the organising club are extremely brave to put on a half marathon in January with the possibilities of cancellation and deserve to be rewarded with good weather, which they usually are and a great turnout of runners . Three cheers for the Half Marathon of the year (in my view)and thanks Helsby running club.

In short: Good race, but didn't live up to "the hype" for me. The Start area was very poor and the goody bag very average.. The Marshalls were excellent, the best I have ever encountered.

In short: This race just keeps getting better each year
In full: This race is always an excellent and well organised event. Every year the Helsby team look to make improvements and the latest one was to get the chip for the timing attached to the race number. No more struggling to attach one to your shoe laces.
The 30th anniverasay Buff in the goody bag was also a nice touch.

In short: Enjoyable race
In full: The park and ride was excellent.

The start was poor. Walking pace for the first 50 metres as too many people went through a narrow area.

The course itself was great. With a number of friendly runners all around the course. The marshalling was fine as was the support in the local villages.

A buff and a cased medal were included in the goody bag. I didn't see any beers that were mentioned in other reviews.

In short: Loved it!
In full: What a FANTASTIC start to the running year! Great organisation, scenic, rural course,(even crowd support in the sticks!), bag storage, high quality cased medal, text results by the time I got back to my car, perfectly placed super-fast downhill to 12 miles, PB course, great idea to have a time clock at 10 miles to check, innovative chip incorporated in your race number so no worries where you start, great goody bag including a special 30th anniversary Buff - a runner couldn't ask for anything more! Here's to the next 30 years - Well done 4 Villages, 1000%!!

In short: well organised fairly flat race
In full: well organised race.Park and ride an excellant idea and bag storage also well done.Lovely medal and nice to see race time at 10 miles to inspire you on(shame the hills killed my legs)The course was fairly flat until about 8 miles and the a few undulations and the easiest two mile run you can do

the only negative was the start as to many runners were funnelled into a narrow area before getting on the road

other than that excellant race

the only negative was the
