In short: Very very windy, 2 mins off my PB but enjoyed this race yet again, thanks to the marshalls for braving the weather...unsung heroes, will be back yet again next year Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: Third consecutive running of this excellent half marathon. In full: Very well organised half marathon which, for good reason, has become very popular. Undulating but still a quick course. Better start this year than 2011.Great Marshalling and pretty good local support considering a lot of race is rural. Pity about the strong gusting wind that made the going tough at times. Would thoroughly recommend this race and hopefully will be at the start line in 2013. Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: Windy windy windy windy In full: As ever, great race, was hoping for subd 1.40 (PB of 1.37 last year) but wind took care of that. Very happy though as put my all into it and was pretty much spent by the end.
Looking forward to next year.
(P.S. Huge mention for the marshalls in the horrible wind today. Top top marks Date of review: January 22, 2012
In short: One of the best, an example to some of the bigger races.... In full: Great scenery, fantastic marshalls, definate PB potential (I knocked 18 mins off my last half marathon), well organised at the end, love the old ladies at the clubhouse serving free tea and biscuits! If I had a gripe I'd say that the first 300 yards were very crowded but thats being really picky, I'll definately be doing this again next year. Date of review: January 29, 2011
In short: Great way to start the year In full: The course which is undulating in parts offers an interesting route along quite country roads. The atmosphere along the route is supportive and the pre race organisation is well organised. Signposts and marshals are excellent. Date of review: January 29, 2011
