In short: Not the most enjoyable race I have done!
In full: Badly organised, the start was delayed & so runners got cold which was not helped by the slow walk behind the Marching band! Very few marshals on the course, the first drinks station was not until nearly 5 miles! Too many spectators in the road near the finish & no atmosphere at the finish line!

In short: A lively, fun, and professionally-run race: recommended
In full: This was a well-organised and marshalled race: the elite runners behind the brass band was a very nice touch. The only slight problem was 15-minute delay caused by having to process so many late entries. Otherwise a lovely atmosphere with loads of support.

In short: Trafic was a problem, I was nearly taken out by an impatient driver on the 11 mile mark, marshall could have done better.

In short: Good quick race, worth doing and nice support in villages
In full: Agree with the other reviewers about the traffic and the other problems, but still enjoyed this one

In short: Pleasant enough but traffic can be scary
In full: For a 'first' Half, the course itself was nice; as an ex local, it was fun revisiting the villages and nice to get out of London. Traffic was definitely an issue at the start and end... could be quite offputting, especially for any newbies. Marshalls did a good job, but Essex drivers are not the most tolerant! Great support out in the villages. A lot of reviews mention the delay - but as the organisers pointed out in their joining notes, this is a 'charity' event, not a 'serious runners' run.
That said, chip timing was nice, although my GPS made the course 13.12 miles....
In summmary, a pleasant day out, and all over before the storm swept through!

In short: Nice route, lots of down hill sections
In full: Only negatives as far as I was concerned was the delayed start time, and the drinks stations were a bit chaotic. But nice support all way round course. Good range of running abilities and lots of downhills means good for first time racers.
