In short: Well organised, flat courses, lots of fun despite the rain.
In full: The race was well organised, signd and marshalled, not a grumpy marshall in sight. There were 4 water stations on the half and it was as flat as a pancake if you want a PB. The course took in some quiet roads as well as the centre of Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea, then back along the sea front with a tail wind.

Medals were presented by a GB team member (60M indoor runner) and there were nice burgers on sale afterwards, also a little craft market. There was stuff to colour and make for the kids as well. The finish for the marathon and half was well marshalled. We will be coming back again next year as it was such a good weekend. Lets hope the weather is a bit kinder.

In short: I had to improve my score. Mablethorpe are now sending me a T-shirt that fits. This is the best race I have ever done!

In short: Fantastic, the best marshals ever, really fast course, very friendly race, you have to do this!!
In full: Great organisation, flat course, the marshals were fantastic, (so enthusiastic with their support that I felt I needed to explain I wasn't winning),presented a medal from a GB runner, and this good even in the wind and rain. I got a PB by 20 mins (fast course). Only one glitch, why ask what size t- shirt you need when they dont have them at the finish.

In short: Only reason I won't do it again is I never do the same marathon twice.....
In full:

This was a great fun marathon, first prize goes to the marshals as they couldn't have been nicer to us. Weather was wet but even that couldn't spoil the fun and the scenery was great. Why is it not more popular as it deserves to be? Really good PB potential as it is mostly flat but with enough hills to keep you going, plenty of serious marathoners around but once you get over the panic you can also see a good number of first timers. Goody bag not that great but better than some I have had, Tshirt is nice though and a Mars is always welcome!
I stayed at The Cross Guest House just out of town and I can tell you it was perfect pre-marathon accommodation, big comfy bed, hot shower and plenty of space to lay out kit. The only thing to watch out for is the town does lack good race food for the night before - unless you count fish and chips!

In short: Excellently organised, pancake-flat marathon.
In full: My congratulation to the organisers - absolutely faultless with lots of nice touches; on-site parking, more marshalls than runners, a very welcome tin-foil poncho at the finish (it had just started raining again) AND someone to put it on me (I was in no state to do it myself!).

Course itself was very flat and potentially very fast. Got a bit lonely through 16-23 miles but cheered up on hitting the prom and the locals were very polite and supportive.

In short: Superbly Organised - Definite PB Potential
In full: I would recommend this to anyone wanting a fairly flat PB-potential marathon in their calendar for 2011. Nasty short hill on 16 miles did for my PB attempt but generally flat as a pancake.
There must have been 3 marshalls to every competitor around the course and at the end. Water station every 2-3 miles, with bottled water and a couple with isotonic bottles also.
Organisation proceeded like clockwork, and very thoughtful touches in all aspects towards the runners.
Will be back with some better-prepared legs next year for a big hack at the PB. Well done Mablethorpe.
