In short: I've run it several times in all types of weather but wind this year was something else!
In full: Raced this course many times over the years - I remember when it was a small, club race, with a small field. Less mud than usual but the wind along the Hadleigh sea wall was so difficult. If I was running on my own, I'm sure that I would have walked! The new venue is an improvement - excellent facilities. Slight adjustments to the finish were more taxing as we turned back into the wind again - and my legs really complained when asked to go over those couple of small rises! Excellent race, brilliant marshalls - I'll be back yet again next year. Maybe I'll get it right!

In short: A good challenge - tough against that wind
In full: Drier than previous years, making only a few muddy patches. A good challenge, helping to gain miles for longer spring events.

In short: Excellent value and fantastic marshalls
In full: Very good run and challenging in places, some of the ground was soft to say the least, but this added to a great sunday run with a difference to pounding the pavement. This was my second year at this race and i will see you all there next year.

In short: Great Super Smashing
In full: Great challenging course, if there's no mud then there will probably be wind. Love it great for training. Nice host club one of the best in Essex.

In short: Prepared for the mud, unprepared for the wind !!!!
In full: My first time competing in this race but this will certainly be one of my "must-do" races every year from now on.

It's described as tough and several runners I know rated this race as amongst the most challenging. The course is excellent, varied terrain and really enjoyable.

Really pleased with my time, the only thing I wasn't prepared for was the Canvey wind! I lost count of the amount of times I thought "maybe when we turn the next bend the wind will be behind us......" not!!! One step forwards and two sideways at times...

However this is a great race, wind and all. Great support from marshalls, friendly atmosphere and camaraderie amongst the runners and (first time ever, thank you Benfleet!) commemoritive t-shirts in small sizes!

See you next year....
