In short: Learning the ropes
In full: This is my second marathon, and although I felt that I had put in the miles for it, I was found out at the 17 mile mark. I was just so bloody cold. In the end, I was disappointed by my performance on what is a very good course.

In short: This may even challenge Loch Ness for my "event of the year". I loved every minute of it. The scenery was fab, the marshalls were the friendliest yet, and everything was so laid back.
In full: Please please please make this an annual event. The massive PB I got isn't colouring my judgement at all!

In short: Well worth the get up at 06.00 and a two hour drive.
In full: Very good and a pb of 3.26 (my 18th marathon). Very sparse support, no media coverage, no front line photo. Well marshalled, good mile markers, good food. Military shirt at end, not a good idea. If more run it, it might be spoilt!

In short: Brilliant scenery and good weather made this an excellent start to spring
In full: Very picturesque run, particularly with the snow capped hills in the distance. Weather was pretty perfect for running and organisation of the race was just about spot-on. Definitely one to run again.

In short: Great course and well organised. Minor quibble is the few loos at the start. Could be a problem with bigger numbers.

In short: Great race, ideal for beginners like me, it was my first marathon.
In full: Well organised race. Good course, great value. Hope a few more people find out about it, the event deserves a bigger field. Well marshalled with loads of water stations.

In short: A great racing experience - let's make more people aware in future
In full: A thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish (well, mainly). Great organisation, friendly runners, a smashing course , great running weather and wonderful hospitality at the end. A real delight. Some more support on the road would have been nice and probably attainable, but it seems no one in and around Dumries had any idea that the race was on - even on race day. I'd be more than glas to see this race appear on an annual basis.

In short: Very well organised marathon. Marshalls were friendly and water stations had sweets and biscuits. Weather was near perfect. Amazed the police stopped the traffic on major roundabout until every runner was through. Will be back.
