In short: Enjoyable race, nice (original) momento
In full: Thought the miner momento was a nice touch, made a nice change from the usual pointless medal.

Word of warning to slower runners in future years. The stretch between 7 miles and 8 miles can be a little frightening due to impatient drivers. Ok on the first lap as cars appeared to give more "respect" to groups of runners, but on the second lap I was basically on my own and almost got clipped by a number of cars.

Other than that, a testing course with a couple of tricky hills.

Thanks for the day somer ac

In short: Well worth the extra 10K event this year, lots of thanks
In full: Even though it's an aggressive course, I was still only 30 odd seconds off my PB.

In short: Fantastic race
In full: This was my first half, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The organisation was superb, there were friendly marshalls and cheering locals all around. Lots of water available, and a lovely momento at the end.

I was worried about silver street after reading previous years reviews, and although it was quite steep it wasn't nearly as bad as i'd imagined!

Thank you somerac for a fantastic day!

In short: Great fun - brilliantly efficient organisation and marshalling. Even the hill wasn't too bad.
In full: I'm a recently arrived local and thought this would be a good race to get to know the area and people a bit more. My expectations were exceeded - fantastic organisation (with the half, 10km and a fun run all going on at the same time), well placed marshals and water stops and more locals than I expected out and about to cheer us on. The route was hilly but not overly harsh and there were opportunities to push on the downhill sections. Nice memento of a miner too. Would I race here again? Definitely!

In short: Wonderful! I ran the 10K.
In full: I ran the 10K. Admittedly I have only started this year and done half a dozen, but I smashed my PB by over 2 mins. I live in Midsomer Norton so was familiar with most of the route and its ups and downs. Hill at the start not bad at all, helps to open out the masses. Wonderful atmos, wonderful organisation, superb marshalling/markers, loads of water stations, a bouncy castle in a playground for the kids, and the best memento you could ever wish for. BRILLIANT!!!!!!

In short: Great as always
In full: Having the hill at the start clears the field nicely, whereas previously you'd have everyone together bombing down the hill to radstock.

In short: Good race well organised
In full: A good race with a couple of hills which take their toll due to the distance. Well organised, plenty of water stops & enthusiastic marshalls/supporters. Tree dodging on the final main road not the responsiblity of the organisers so that can't take the shine off it. Nice memento
