In short: excellent friendly 5k suitable for all
In full: What a nice friendly bunch!
This was my first 5k of the year The people running it ensured everyone knew where they were going. Its fast enough for club runners but theres enough of us plodders to make you not feel odd one out

In short: Lovely race with some friendly folks, don't be put off by all the club runner boys
In full: I had planned to run this race before but faciitis kept ruining my running calendar. I had heard good things before from a friend who is a club runner.

My friend has only just started running and has never run a race before so I suggested this would be a good distance and race to start with. Now I have some orthotics and have just started running again I thought this would be a nice re-introduction for me to.

We were made to feel very welcome by a couple of nice club runners who told us where to register and to start.

My friend became a little intimitated (as did I) when more runners turned up and they all seemed to be lads and club runners but there seemed to be no judgement on their part.

We were glad when some ladies and non club runners arrived. There were some lovely kids cheering everyone on.

I'm really glad for my friend that this was her first race, it's a lovely course in a pretty park. The only gripe would be there are some pits and holes in the tarmac which takes it out on your feet a bit - but Manchester City Council arent known for seamless roads and paths.

We both look forward to returning, I especially so because I want to beat the lass that tonked me in the last 20 metres - she was ace.

I would definitely recommend!

In short: Enjoyable local race
In full: Nice little 5K, shame about the two sharpish corners but otherwise a fast course. Easy parking and only costs £2 for students (although £5 sounds quite expensive for non-attached runners)!! Will most certainly do again.

In short: Excellent for this beginner, and many more too!
In full: My first race and loved it. Very friendly atmoshpere. Set in a nice, easy to find park with plenty of parking. There is even a playground for the kids to amuse themselves on while you run. Great race for spectators too

In short: Great course for a PB
In full: A very flat course in a park situation with no traffic. A good surface for most of the course and a very friendly atmosphere. Not an over priced race like many are and a chance of a spot prizes. Highly recommended.

In short: My First Race!!!
In full: Alexander Park was my first race.

This run shall hopefully be a regular thing now, with the support of Chantelle and my Little Man!

Couple of lessons today -

Don't get involved in the quick start to the race, run your own race at your own pace!

DOUBLE KNOTT YOUR SHOE LACES!!! Enough said

Weather was very cold and struggled against a strong head wind just round the back of the football pitch.

Very well organised, shame showers didnt work!!! Hopefully will be sorted for next meet.

Looking forward to next month already
