In short: Race over measured due to safety concerns so PB's out the window. PS 2009 race was much much better (10/10) but can't review race yet Date of review: October 18, 2009

In short: Another enjoyable Liverpool 10K In full: I can understand all the gripes about organisation & correct distance but I think all credit should go to the organiser as it must be one big headache when last minute changes have to be made through circumstances that are totally out of your control. At the end of the day I enjoy my running & this was another enjoyable Liverpool 10K in a great setting Date of review: October 8, 2008

In short: Last Minute Route Changes In full: I've ran this race for the last 4 years and I find it always to be my favoured run of the year. Liverpool always delivers a flat(ish) course so good times are always possible. \i clocked my PB this year so the comments below regarding an over long course make my efforts all the more satisying. Friendly banter a the finish line was also good. I'll be back next time (if there is next time as funding seems tight according to the runliverpool website). If i could make one wish, it would be return to the city centre location. Sefton Park is great but Liverpool's 10k should take in at least one landmark (like the Liver Building in 2005). In short: good flat course, well organised, good value In full: It was great to get a text with your official time/ chip time just a couple of hours after the race. The goody bag was very well put together, support excellent and the route more varied than this year's Women's 10k which was welcome. All in all a credit to the organisers who by all accounts get no help from Liverpool City Council. Date of review: October 6, 2008

In short: Usual organisational blunders In full: This is a Run Liverpool event and was blighted by the usual scuffles. Namely:
- Nowhere near enough toilets - People who weren't racing (maninly people with kids) using the toilets. Can't you just wait until the race has started? - Yet another last minute change to the route (this has happened on the women's 10k and the half-marathon this year) which meant going in and out of the park three times instead of just once and generally not knowing what was happening whilst running. - My Garmin said the route was 10.54km and other runners seemed to agree that their times weren't right. In short: Well organised and in great surroundings In full: This race was great fun, aided by the fact that the overnight rain had stopped in time. The organisation was flawless, and the support along the way was superb. The route around the 2 parks is ideal. Highly recommended. Date of review: October 5, 2008

In short: Great value for money In full: Decent T-shirt, plenty of water/poweraid drinks on course, good medal plus a goody bag. Fast results service. Good run through two city parks with a supportive crowd. Date of review: October 5, 2008
