In short: Good course, good support, nice people - well worth the 6 hour drive from Liverpool. In full: A very scenic and flat course (though 14-20 miles did feel like a slight incline). Not hugely supported like some bigger races but more than enough to make you feel valued - and the support came when you needed it. (Crowds would have spoilt the scenery). There was a very "homely" feel to this race and the organisers are to be congratulated for keeping things simple and straightforward. A sandwich and hot drink afterwards was definitly well received. I would definitely do this again. Very nice - if 26.2 can ever be described as such. Date of review: April 28, 2005

In short: A flat marathon under the watchful eye of Big Ben Nevis In full: Shame about that narrow footpath - complete with posts - so soon after the start. But overall a very well organised event. It seemed that the organisers reacted to the hot weather by providing more drinks stations. This was very commendable & welcome. After crossing the finish line having practically melted in my shoes, I would have given my right arm to be up Ben Nevis which, at that point, was covered in snow! Date of review: April 28, 2005

In short: Fantastic location and great support despite being rural. In full: Fantastic location and great support despite being rural. I nearly got lost mile 23 to 26 as the run (a reverse of miles 1 - 3) wasn't well marked and there were no marshal's. I'd love to do it again to better my time as the sun and the heat this year took it out of you. Then again it could snow next year? Yippie!!! Date of review: April 28, 2005

In short: Hats off to the kids at the water stations.Big thumbs down to the lack of marshals/signing at the finish-distressing to get lost at 25 miles Date of review: April 27, 2005
