In short: Fast and flat but boring out and back route along the promenade In full: This is certainly a PB potential course, pretty flat and straight but a little boring as a result. Large field and lots of people with over ambitious time estimates can make for a hazardous first 1k. Parking and traffic this year was a disaster and with no toilets available at the start it's unlikely I'll go out of my way to do this again. Date of review: December 17, 2004
In short: 80% of the runners finshed in 45 min+ The start relied on runners selecting their predicted finish times, the last predicted finish time board was "over 45mins" so start was was clumsey, organisers should look at this. Otherwise a good run Date of review: October 11, 2004
In short: The start was a bit shambolic, t-shirts ran out before every finisher received one (although they are being posted). Course was well marshalled although the scenes at the finish line were somewhat disorganised (where were the drinks)? Date of review: October 4, 2004
In short: An unassuming, but flat and friendly course. Shame about the loos but at least the weather held itself off. In full: Some uncontrolable factors marred what is otherwise a nice race. The elements of the day that were within the organisers' remit, were handled very well. Date of review: October 4, 2004
In short: Gets better every year In full: This is the 6th or 7th time that I've run in this race, and I believe that it's getting better year on year.
Don't blame the organisers for the locked toilets near the start - they expected them to be opened but the local Council shut the loos the previous day due to vandelism.
It will be improved when the organisers come up with some new boards to let people line up at the start in their predicted finish times - the existing ones are out of date and do not reflect the changing profile of the race. Next year perhaps? Date of review: October 4, 2004
