In short: Well worth a trip to Southend-On-Sea
In full: Despite the horrendous weather this is a fast run with a good mix of elite and happy amateurs. Around 1,500 runners. The race times were captured using a tag system which worked well. Reasonable organisation and cost. Results published on the organisers website after 2 days.

In short: Fast, flat and fun
In full: The strong headwind running out helped on the way back and the rain was nice and cooling so I achieved a PB.I think there are always issues with people lining up at the start not aware of the finish time bands but I doubt it will ever change. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable run.

In short: Great flat, fast race!
In full: Excellent flat, fast course - definate PB potential!

The start was a little bit disorganised, might have been better to get people to line up a bit earlier but understand that due to the poor weather this might not have been very desirable this year.

Marshalls were all very enthusiastic and there was a reasonable amount of support along the course despite the wind and rain.

Good t-shirt and excellent homemade cakes at the end!!!

In short: Flat, fast, great atmosphere.
In full: There could be some improvements made at the start and finish but the race is still one of my favourites. It was very wet and windy but I really enjoyed it.
Thanks to all the organisers, the poor wet marshalls and the cheering nurses!
Lovely tea and bread pudding at the end. Yum!

In short: One of my favourites!
In full: I like running in the rain! It is hard to organise such a huge race which attracts all levels of ability. I agree the start could be better, but that's Southend (it's always been a bun fight at the start). I'm not sure if the electronic tags worked properly (or at all) because my husband was not shown in the results at all.
