In short: Blackpool Marathon
In full: I had trained for months for this marathon (it was to be my 2nd) how very dissapointing to find the start delayed (apprx 45 mins) VERY hot weather (forecast in advance) lack of water at stations - regrettable (for me) I had to 'drop out' (1st EVER) I was concerned about dehydrating (not a pleasant prospect) Will not attend next year - however marshalls were encouraging but would like my money refunded.

In short: Stop complaining, we need people to organise runs.
In full: I have been reading comments about the race this year with interest. i did it last year as my first marathon and really enjoyed it. The only reason for not doing it this time round was the FLM. It is hard to organise anything these days with to few people willing to give their time, which for the most is unpaid. to hear the moaning for this race is unfair to these people who must feel like not bothering again. I would think a lot of time and effort went into the race and lets face it, i bet you all enjoyed it really. I say thank you to the organisers of this and all the races up and down the country. By the way, i am not one of them, i just run.

In short: A great advert to get people biking or swimming
In full: Terrible organisation to run out of water so early in the race. To see runners scrounging in the gutter for discarded bottles with water in was absolutely disgusting and the lack of marshalls / medical support on the sea front stretch could have been fatal. Thanks must go to members of the public who had the foresight to turn on their garden hoses to supply water and to look after the runners suffering with dehydration. One to watch for in the race calendar and definitely miss. You've got to ask how the Freckleton 1/2 marathon run later the same day some 20 miles away gets predominantley rave reviews, but you don't need to ask where local runners will be next year.

In short: Very poorly organised. Had hopes of running sub-1:29 but ended up 1:38!! Great weather, bad race
In full: 1/ 45 Min Delay - Minimum feedback
2/ 1st 2 miles very congested - road 2 narrow
3/ Confusing mile markers
4/ Was the first water station at 6 mile?
5/ Recreational people who rode/ran against the racers - Where were the marshalls to stop this
6/ Poor toliet facilities at the start
7/ No changing area

In short: Fantastic
In full: This is now one of my favourite races. After last year (2004) I said I would do this again, and make sure I have some marked improvement! Well I am going to do the run again, no promises with the improvement in time.

Really looking forward to this one!

In short: Fast, flat and fresh.
In full: A very good event with a pleasant course and good mix of runners. However, passing the finish area with 3 miles still to go was a drag.

In short: Fast. But depressing to pass the finish 3 miles before you actually cross the line.
