In short: Great race to kick off 2006 In full: This was my first nigel barge race, and a good one to start off the year! The course was changed from the usual route, a bit longer at 5.8K and it followed 2 loops with some nice hills, quite tough if you're not used to them or you're working off the xmas excess! Nice scenery, well organised, fab goody bag a really warm reception at the finish. In the diary for next year already. Date of review: January 15, 2006
In short: New 2 lap course dictated by the police for health and safety reasons due to road works In full: Friendly atmosphere and good tea after the finish. Contents of the goody bags from Achilles Heel excellent and it was the luck of the draw which one you got as they were all mixed up. Spot prizes of Asics Towels for the very lucky folk. This is the second time I've run it and would do so again. Date of review: January 15, 2006
In short: Enjoyed the two lap course. In full: Course was changed several times by police but the final route was good. Very proud to have run such a historic race. Great tea afterwards with a good atmosphere. Date of review: January 14, 2006
In short: This was my first race and an excellent way to start the year. In full: When I arrived I discovered the course had been changed as the cops were a wee bit nippy about running through busier areas. This added maybe another click but turned it into a reasonably flat two lapper as opposed to the lose a couple of hundred meters then drag them back up when you're knackered I was fearing.
I was curious as to what the running shop had provided as they were the main sponsors and I saw nothing in the goody bag until last night I finally unpinned my number and found a 15% discount. I slept with a smile on my face. Date of review: January 9, 2006
