In short: Much improved event In full: Vast improvement in terms of organisation and route since 2005 , however having had a flu like virus for the last 6 weeks decided to use the event to try and sweat it out of me BIG mistake and evetually had to retire (first time ever). But credit where it is due this is turning into a really good event and seems to be getting more popular will definetly be taking part next year flu virus permitting. Date of review: January 7, 2008
In short: Great start to 2008 In full: Despite terrible weather really enjoyed this race -especially the tea and cakes afterwards! Was good to use the half mile slow run to the start from the register as a warm-up - there were signs showing the short-cut. Although dominated by a fast field there were a few of us at the back and got great support from the stewards who were standing in the freezing rain. Definitely will do this next year Date of review: January 6, 2008
In short: unhappy about the end of the race In full: when I entered the park there were no signs or stewards to tell me where to go to the finish. Never doing the race before or being in the park then I got lost and had to stop and ask other runners where to go. I was one of the slower runners always managing a 10K in 1hr 1mins - 1hr 3mins but by surviving cancer I am delighted with my times.Having to ask runners twice where to go then my time was definately out. At the Finish Line it was ok only I was asked if I was the last runner but I knew that there were still some to come in including the girl with the "last runner" bib. On entering the park she told the two girls she was with where to go but went in a different direction. I thought she would have run with them until the finish line was in sight. This is definately a fast race. Congratulations to all who ran.
In short: Good start to the New Year! In full: Wasn't really flat as described, there were a couple of hills on each lap. Nice atmosphere and the stewards did a good job cheering us round. Date of review: January 5, 2008
