In short: Nice organisation - shame about the course!
In full: Last year I DNF'd this race because I was bored with it. This year I chose to do it because I wanted to look boredom in the eye while supporting a well-organised, friendly, good-value race that deserves its popularity. KRRAC put on a great event, with the marathon and 35-mile ultra running concurrently. The atmosphere is friendly, informal and supportive, and the finish couldn't be better, with tea and coffee, chocolate biscuits, the best bread pudding EVER, and the goody-bag has proper food and a good-quality t-shirt in it. The course, however, is five laps of a reservoir and I found it grindingly dull. I came away thinking, "I NEVER want to see Draycote Water again." But d'you know what? I'll probably be back :o)

In short: A small field, a well organised and friendly event. I've completed the 26.2 twice now. I think I'll have a crack at the 35 miler in 2010.

In full: Well organised, very friendly, excellent start to the new marathon season, this 5 lap race is never boaring, and a pure joy to enter each year.

In short: Excellent low key friendly race.
In full: I had my first ever DNF in many years of running but that does not take the gloss of what is a fine race.
The atmosphere was excellent amongst all the runners and marshalls/lap counters completed their jobs efficiently and with good humour. As others have stated the 2 marshalls stood in the gail for hours on end deserve special praise. Thanks guys!

Small touches like the free tea/coffee and biscuit at the finish were appreciated by all.
My thanks to all at Kenilworth Runners.

In short: Hard to fault - flat fast course + efficient friendly organisation
In full: Ideal for those who like small friendly races. Don't be put off by the fact this is five laps - in fact this helps since it means you get a steady stream of folk passing you or for you to catch.

In short: Brilliant race, real PB potential, very friendly
In full: Great friendly race on a nice flat course round the lake. Marshals were brilliant, and the laps meant you kept on seeing people (in the marathon or ultra) and could pass on encouragement. Great mile markers too (was expecting only every few miles but each mile had a marker). I'll definately be back - well done in organising guys!

In short: Great race - Excellent for PB
In full: Excellent race - v. well organised - Marshalls superb (especially the poor s*d left to freeze in the wind off the lake past the yacht club) - almost flat but the few small inclines were a right royal pain in the backside the fifth time around. All round brilliant and I PB'ed.

In short: A well organised and friendly marathon.
In full: Tough conditions this year with the strong breezy and cold temperatures. However, an event that is well organised but low-key, efficient lap-counting, friendly marshals and great support in pockets along the route and from fellow runners/runners using the crcuit for training.

The course is reasonably flat but is broken up by a couple of tricky hills - these of course became more challenging as the race progressed.

Decent goodie bag, and generous post race refreshments (free) of tea/coffee, cake and biscuits - good that the organisers weren't trying to make a fast buck unlike events companies charging £1 upwards for a hot drink - thanks.

Thanks to all the hard work from Kenilworth Runners and I'll see you in 2010.
