In short: Brilliant but nails!
In full: Some seriously hard terrain in places but great atmosphere. Tough and testing. When they say its multi terrain and endurance - they aren't kidding!

In short: Awesome event, incredibly hard but worth it!
In full: Hardest event I've probably ever taken part in, but well worth the effort. Great organisation. That climb near the end was crazy!

In short: There were some really fit people out there!
In full: Respect to those who ran with the bergers and boots - it was amazing to finish with the ones who were hoping to meet the 1hr 50min challenge - what a great atmosphere. I expected the course to be wetter and muddier than it was, so wore the wrong shoes!

In short: First time with a bergen on. Great fun but hard.
In full: A definite must do (again), will make sure that Harvel HHH turn up with a team next year. Couldn't wish for a better charity either.

In short: Best race ever
In full: this is truly a magnificant event. The idea of training for and running 10 miles with a 35lb rucksack in hiking boots is impossible to explain to most people but one of the greatest personal challeneges I have undertaken. It's not just about pounding the streets in trainers but putting the uphill miles in fully loaded at a very fast walking pace. A good focussed gym regime helps enormously to build core strength and avoid injury.
It's quite humbling to see hundreds of people gathering with rucksacks and boots to voluntarily run 10 miles.
There was actually more flat and downhill sections than I had imagined, which made for a much faster race than I had anticipated.
A word of warning, don't run downhill, trying to drink, I have the torn hands and knee to prove it. Thanks to all those who helped me up and checked I was OK.

In short: Awesome..........
In full: A race everyone should do. If you are looking for a challenge, something away from the normal routine of a running race then this is for you, and because the cause is so good it makes it a race you should do for yourself and for the charity.
I trained hard for the race and the training paid off, I was prepared for the hills (although Pussy Hill was a little more than I had anticipated!)but that didn't mean the course was easy.
Fortunately the weather was spot on, carrying 35lb on your back is hard enough but had it been a hot day it would have been pretty mean.
Fantastic to do the challenge on the army barracks and the fact the marshals were army personnel was quite a treat.
I personally loved it, would recommend it to anyone wanting something different and its spurred me on to look for challenges of a similar nature.
To date this has to be the best race I've done.

In short: Chuffed!!!!
In full: Agree with most of the earlier comments (esp the one who said they can't stop smiling - me too!!).Sorry to down mark this on PB potential but did have 35lbs on my back!!!. So glad I did P comp and was sOOOOOO glad to get the first 2.5 miles gentle uphill crawl (more or less)out of the way.But that 'gully at the end, crikes.
And for me - what a buzz to have Para's applauding you and shouting 'good effort' as you approach the finish line.

Wanted to prove 'you can if you want it hard enough'. To get in under the 1.50 mark 4yrs after having a heart attack .....like i said, grinning like a cheshire cat. Oh and raised over £1300 for BLESMA - result all round

ps also pleased to see that some who ran P comp WITHOUT a pack were taking off the finalised results

YOU HAVE TO DO THIS

In short: Brilliant! Everyone should do this at least once.
In full: This is now one of my regular races, if only for the fit para's that passed me with their packs. I ran the course without and respect to all those who ran with a pack. Thoroughly enjoyed it, even with the short, sharp hills and the water ditch was a nice refreshing change. Excellent atmosphere, organisation and marshalling and the red devils finished it off nicely. Only a shame half the winners weren't there to pick up the prizes at the end.
