In short: i love this race but its always another good race day
In full: I have run this race, but its also the same day as Tadley x country. I have been running 8 years and that was my first race. I never miss the water filled ditches or the soup afterwards. I wish the days could be different. They are both such great races, but Tadley is closer

In short: See below
In full: Personally disastrous -- took me nearly as long for the 8 as when it was an 11-miler twenty years ago -- but it's a great race with great traditions. Used to be one of the premier road races in the country, and it would be nice to see it get back to that position. There was hot tea, by the way, in the single-storey building to the right of the finish -- but they were Losely House prices rather than athletic club ones.

In short: newcomer, but really enjoyed and nowhere nearas bad as I had feared
In full: Haven't got a lot to compare it to -longest race to date but really satisfying. Position wasn't as good as I wanted but nor as bad as I expected! One more step on the long path of training for the FLM.

In short: well organised, good but hard course, enjoyable.
In full: But a very cold day, some of it icy but that's no one's fault! Could have done with hot drinks being available at the finish as it was a long walk back to the car...

In short: Very tactical as it starts with a 4 mile climb to the 1st water station
In full: This event requires thought before starting, do you nail the 4 mile climb or hold something back for the remaining 50% of the course as by mile 5 you are on the flat. Plenty of people are there showing the way but the traffic on the high section is a factor. 2005 was so foggy that I am surprised one of the runners not wearing hi-viz vests weren't hit.
I continue to be amazed by how long the drive into loseley House actually is, "Are we there yet Dad?"!

In short: Enjoyable race, but on a cold December morning, a little treacherous underfoot in places.
In full: I would have to question the 9.30 start time. Trying to run both up and downhill was more like Bambi on ice in palces!. How nobody fell on the main downhill stretch is a mircale. I think it would be far more sensible to puch the start time back and allow it to defrost a bit.
Also, it's an incredibly long walk back from the finish to the car park. As scenic as the finish is, it's a long way on a cold day.
