In short: Very well organised race, and very scenic In full: From the registration to the end this was a very well organised race, having travelled from Southampton on the Saturday in the wet was pleased to see sunny weather on the sunday, plenty of drink stations, very nice course, would definetly do it again. In short: Very well organised race with terrific marshalling/support throughout. A 'no stone left unturned' approach. In full: Closing half the road between Paignton and Torquay for several hours was quite an achievement. In spite of hot weather and several longish stops to take on water I actually managed a pb. However, slight discrepancy over finish time but this is being scrutinised (many runners finishing en bloc a confounding factor apparently). A run this size might consider timing chips. Seeing fellow club & elite runners along seafront at close quarters was a definite novelty, giving added interest & encouragement. Great dedicated website & pre-run booklet. PA deserves special mention with good pre-race instructions and jolly repartee at the finish. Elvis on the hill was a nice touch and the group's 'running' songs were a hoot. It was definitley more than undulating and a couple of the hills were tough going second time round. At least we didn't have to do a circuit at the end. All-in-all a resounding success. In short: Enjoyable and well supported In full: A good race, albeit in warm conditions. Well attended and organised. All marshalls encouraging and happy/smiling. Great T-shirt and medal. Party atmosphere at finish. Slightly hilly, moreso than undulating. Could have done with more water stations on day, but well worth a visit next year. Date of review: June 28, 2005
In short: I enjoyed this. Will do it again next year - just hope it's cooler. In full: At first the baggage tent was uattended. Fortunately, a volunteer was found to stand in the doorway for over three hours ... a big THANK YOU to the young lady who managed to be pleasant and smiling despite being getting a mind-numbing job to do. A good, fun race. Even the geriatric ballerina was amusing. Date of review: June 28, 2005
In short: Oh I do like to run beside the seaside... In full: Even thou I did not do well in this race I am sure I will be back again to make amends for it next year. Enjoyed the atmosphere and my tired ears thought 'The King' was quite good on top of the hill.
anyway, who said the sea was warm!!!!!!
Well I'm 'Looking Up' to next year. Date of review: June 28, 2005
