In short: Potentially a good race, but organisational glitches ratehr spoiled it
In full: Unmanned water station at mile 3-crosooing a main road and having to pull own water out of a plastic pack wasnt the best. The finish was a bit of a shambles too, much crossing of roads and dodging cars

In short: Give it back to the council
In full: Very sad....I have always loved this race and got a pb last year, but this year was a total mess. Everything has changed for the worst.
The question has been asked by 2:09 "Can Tewkesbury stage a half marathon of this size".
Seems to me that it did ok when the council organised it.
My favourite half marathon is dead.... Tewkesbury has been removed from my clubs grand prix list for next year, so we will not be back.

In short: poor signs at start site, and not enough water along the way, considering the forecast was accurate for the day

In short: Very poor organisation and last half mile of course was a nightmare! Fastish course, but not quite as flat as I had expected.

In short: What were they thinking?
In full: Dread set in when the chips weren't sent with the race number that arrived two days before the race. The course was pants compared to previous years and the organisation on the day was shambolic. Certainly need to sort themselves out if this is going to be a great event, which it can be.

In short: A big mistake to change this, was much better as a smaller race.
In full: Following my great (but very late !) review last year - must really say something about this year. Cannot disagree with any of the negative things that anyone has to say, althought I didn't experience the water shortage, I got round in just under 2 hrs, they had plenty left at each stop (loads at stop 1, as we had to unwrap it ouselves!). Stop 3 was well beyond 8 miles and was I 'threaders' not to find it were I REALLY needed it. Think my 'favourite' bit was the start and finish - the start for the chaos (I too saw all the pace signs in a bag, on the grass) and the finish for the increadably l - o - n - g run in ! (it was on the map so expected it, but would have liked countdown signs) Oooooh, . . . and the stentch of the dog doo bin as you left/entered the grass section was stomach turning !!!
Last year Tewkesbury/209 got it bang on !. Need to change the finish area and do all the suggestions most people have posted and this can be a STORMING race again.
Going away soon, so won't be able to run again until March 2009, so am looking to come back to an improved set-up here and get another crac at a PB.
Highly recommend Tewkes and Stroud. Don't recommend Bristol at all. Bath's OK.
My opinion - small race are fantastic (max 1000). Bigger races are a mare. Hope Tewkes doesn't slip onto my too big/mare list, otherwise I'll be on RW searching for smaller races to do. Also, if you're looking for more little races in Bristol/SW area - try Cheddar & Norton Radstock (300 ish)

In short: i enjoyed it considering the shambolic organisation
In full: baking hot day, traffic jams into tewkesbury made me a tad late.this is when the fun started!we had to queue for our chips and no-one seemed to know the right queue to be in.the start was a shambles, lack of water, markers, dangerous traffic, unbelievable it went off at all.despite it all i strangely enjoyed it,i think it was the achievement of finding my way round!

In short: Terible end to race, badly organized
In full: I've run this race for many years and this was by far the worst. Beautiful weather but a tad hot, not nearly enough water, didn't enjoy the new route which was impossible to work out from the badly drawn map you got with your number! Would hate to do the start and finish on a wet day as that field would be a bog!
