In short: Fantastic race!
In full: first run after lengthy period off with an injury but still managed to post a respectable time. Great mix of up and downhill sections, definite potential for a PB next year!

In short: One of the best 10K's around!
In full: Arrived in time to enter on the day, parking was ample in a nearby field, now the fun could begin!
After slight congestion at the start, (I made it 10 secs or so on my watch before I could start running properly) I was under way. The first kilometre was flat but then the next three were anything but. If you fancy a challenging start in a 10K the next 3K will give you exactly that! Up, up and up again! I was breathing hard and digging deep, desperate not to give into that demon who tells you it's easier to give up and walk!
When the 4K marker appears at the top of the hill I saw in small print someone had written "It's all downhill from here, well almost!"
Your efforts will be rewarded with one of the best downhill sections I've seen in a race to date, this was my 10th 10K and 16th race in total. If you've been on a big rollercoaster and experienced the climb before the big drop, this is it! The view at this point is pretty impressive too. During the descent it's easy to go mad and put your foot down and become a speed freak, don't over do it, the water station appears at the bottom of the hill! I actually ran through without stopping, 1st time I've ever done that!
Special mention here for the young lady with prosthetic legs I passsed on the down-hill, a real credit to herself and a humbling moment indeed.
Shortly after the water station is the return leg along the by-pass, mostly flat and as fast as you like! A little twist and turn through a stile and a change of terrain takes you back to the Fire Station along a path next to a river, a short stretch across a field and a road / pavement section into the finish.
A nice meadl awaits you here and I was well pleased with a NEW P.B. of 47min 7secs! I treated myself to a free massage as a reward, thanks to lovely Emma for that. A good selection of cakes, hotdogs, hot and cold drinks were also on hand and the results were quickly printed for all to view.
Well done to all concerned for a fantastic event, it's certainly in my top 3 races and I'm already looking forward to next year!! It's the perfect way to sign off before I do the Jersey Half on the 19th. Thank You.

In short: Watch out for the first 4k
In full: Feeling a bit under the weather so found the going a bit tough this year - I'm sure the first 4k wasn't that hilly last year!

Only pain was the bottleneck at the start - 2nd year running I've come to a grinding halt just through the start.

Nice scenery up at the top of the course and no frost this year which was nice on that steep down hill section!

In short: Great race with good tea & cakes afterwards
In full: Will be back next year. 2nd time of running it. Medals are good. My only suggestion would be can someone stand on the barrels to shut us all up for the two mins silence. I was at the back and sorry did not know it had started

In short: The downhills seem much longer than the ups. A PB course despite its 'lumpy' nature.

In short: Second time for me. Again was well organised and very friendly, and there's a definite payoff for the hill climbs. Thanks to all involved.
