In short: Fast course, great for a PB In full: I thought the narrow start would be an issue but this run quickly spreads out and a fast start pace was possible. The course is very flat making it great PB material. Organisation seemed pretty good and I'll be back next year. Date of review: June 10, 2008
In short: They must be doing something right In full: As I keep going back....even though each year I say I wont bother next year. Very little crowd support, all country lanes....so if you like looking at fields and hedges and trees then you will love it.
I know I'll be back agian next year....I still dont know why. Maybe it's the medal Date of review: March 17, 2008
In short: Enough to convert a 10Ker to half-marathon running. In full: As luck had it, the weather was perfect for running. Crisp and sunny, with a good warmup from the car park in town... The start was very congested and took me about three minutes to cross the start line, but I was way back at the 2hr mark with the other fun-runners. I found the course to be very clearly marked with roads closed to traffic, so it was a true road run instead of pavements and dodging traffic!.. The sceanery was lovely and there appeared to be plenty of spectators and photographers to spur you on if you are like me who appreciate that sort of thing. It was my first half marathon after always running 10Ks, so was a real test for me, which I found to be a real achievement. I think I have been converted to running longer distances now so can't be a bad thing. Will definately do it again next year. Date of review: February 25, 2008
In short: Worth doing In full: This was only my 2nd half marathon having completed the Marlow Half in November. Having been ill two weeks before this one and an injury for my running partner I was not really prepared for this race but went for it as a " training run" and plodded around accordingly. The atmosphere was good and friendly with lots of encouragement from members of the public and local residents. Definitely will run next year hopefully a bit quicker too.
