In short: Great lady great cause you should do it for these reasons alone
In full: Not a good course as it's not flat as advertised. The climb out of the city is tough for beginners but not too bad. Then a long slog up to the turn. It means you can deliver that all elusive negative split but not a chance of a pb.

In short: An excellent race for a good charity with the Lady herself chearing every runner. Dont expect to set a PB as this is a popular and crowded race - justifiably so

In short: Not as it seems! You should try it!
In full: This was an event that will grow and possibly sell out in a short time.
The scenery was very dull, running between building in town, and housing estate back throught the town again. Plus the rating was FLAT. I can tell you, it is most def NOT flat. There is a very long incline which wears you out before a hairpin down the incline again.
The atmosphere was stunning, overwhelming and the organisation was equally brilliant. I was told by my family that it was just as enjoyable for the many thousands of spectators too. And 2 of my sons who have never run before said they wanted to be part of the fun next year!
The price was very high at over 20 quid, but I would do it again. It is a shame for that price that the organisers could not have negotiated a small medal for all finishers, instead of a T-shirt that I will never wear, so no-one will see. (Why wouldn't I wear it? Because It would wear out, and then I woukd have no momento at all of the inauguaral event).
It is a great first time race. But not for anyone seeking a PB. First timers are just dragged along with the fun and atmosphere, whilst surrounded by red faced, panting, first timer celebs.

Great Day Indeed.

Steve

In short: A wonderful race with an amazing atmosphere.
In full: This race was great fun with runners and walkers spanning the whole spectrum of speeds. The weather felt pretty hot, but there was no shortage of water to keep you going. There are a few hills on the course, but they are quite gentle, and the last 200 metres or so is down hill making it perfect for a fantastic sprint finish.

In short: Great event with a brilliant atmosphere. Has the potential to become an annual event for years to come. I'll definitely be back next year. Overall very organised but collection of goodie bags/t-shirts was a bit chaotic at the end.
