In short: Entry fee expensive, medal & goody bag okay. Good course through woods, long hill right from the start but runnable due to zig zags.

In short: Nice tough race
In full: A good intro for off-roaders this. Tough but not too tough. Excellent prizes and goody bag too, particularly liked the shoe-bag - never had one of those before!

In short: run uphill, keeping run uphill, run downhill, avoiding the tree stumpss
In full: This is an interesting race, I normally do road races this one was very much off road, dirt tracks, forest paths, what you'd expect really. Course can be quite steep in places, first 3 km felt like it was entirely uphill. I'm useed to running hilly courses, alderley edge and back for example, but this was a challenge for me, track was quite narrow in places, so it was single file, with some overly competitive jostling for position, some runners failed to realise that it's a 10k in Delemere forest and not an olympic event.

Glad it hadn't been too rainy before the event, it could have been very muddy, I hate running in mud.

Altogether a steep hilly course over dirt, mud, sand and pebble tracks, had to keep my eyes on the floor to avoid tripping, but if you look up now and again you can see some beautiful views.

Legs were sore for a few days afterwards, I haven't experienced that in a while, so a little more challenging than your average 10k.

In short: Glad I did it - where were you?? How long was that first hill? Good job it wasn't steep!b
In full: I love my medal! The goody bag was good with the usual promotional freebies....I'm expecting the Saab will turn up on my driveway tonight. At the start I thought I was in for a thrashing because everybody looked really up for it so I was pleased to finish a respectable 87th - only 46 seconds slower than my M/cr 10k time. Free Red Bull before hand - one criticism - the 'old' safety pins were hard to get through my shirt and left small holes and... why were the km markers so far apart??? (joke!)
